Updated : 10-Feb-2014Olympian long distance runner Ranjit Bhatia died on 9 February 2014 in New Delhi. Ranjit Bhatia was 77 years old. He was a famous long and middle distance runner, sports journalist and educationist. He represented India in 1960 (Rome Olympics) 5000 meter race and participated in Marathon race.
He was honored with an Order of British Empire award for his services to the game and his role as a bridge between sports of India and United Kingdom.
