Mother Teresa conferred with which award posthumously in UK - Founders Award

Mother Teresa has been awarded posthumously conferred with the UK’s prestigious Founders Award this year. This award is given to recognise and reward exemplary achievements of people within the global Asian community.

On 8 April 2016, Teresa’s only living relative, her 72-year old niece, Agi Bojazhiu has received the award.

On September 4, Mother Teresa will be made a saint; She founded the Missionaries of Charity and spent her 45 years in the service of poor, sick, the orphaned, and the dying on the streets of Kolkata. Teresa was died at the age of 87 in Kolkata, in 1997.

•Mother Teresa who is also known as Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, MC, was an Albanian Roman Catholic religious sister and missionary.

•Teresa was born in Skopje. After having lived in Macedonia for some eighteen years, she moved to Ireland and then to India, where she lived for most of her life.

Which company successfully landed its rocket on a floating drone ship for the first time – SpaceX

On 9 April 2016, American aerospace company SpaceX achieved the historic feat of successfully launching and landing Falcon 9 rocket. The rocket landed on a drone ship at sea after being launched into space.

This company has been able to pull off an ocean landing for the first time, after four previous attempts ended in failure.

It’s true; today's success is a crucial milestone for SpaceX, as it shows the company can land its rockets both on solid ground and ocean.

About SpaceX:

•SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies Corporation) an American aerospace manufacturer and space transport Services Company have headquarters in Hawthorne, California, USA.

•SpaceX was founded in 2002 by former PayPal entrepreneur and Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk with the goal of creating the technologies to reduce space transportation costs and enable the colonization of Mars.

•SpaceX has developed the Falcon 1 and Falcon 9 launch vehicles, both of which were designed from conception to eventually become reusable and the Dragon spacecraft which is flown into orbit by the Falcon 9 launch vehicle to supply the International Space Station (ISS) with cargo. A manned version of Dragon is in development.

In which state North East-ASEAN Business Summit concluded – Imphal

Popular business summit for the first-ever three-day North East-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) concluded at the City Convention Centre in Imphal, Manipur. It was started from 7 April and ended on 9 April 2016.

The main aim of this summit was to attract investment from both domestic and foreign firms to the North-East states of India. This business summit also tried to increase productivity and generate employment in the region.

•The North East Business Summit, which is an annual flagship event to promote investment and business opportunities in the North Eastern part of India.

•The event is jointly organized by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Government of India and the Indian Chamber of Commerce. 

Which two countries agreed to build a bridge across Red Sea - Saudi Arabia & Egypt

On 8 April 2016, Saudi Arabia and Egypt agreed to build a bridge across the Red Sea. Now this bridge will connect these two countries.

This bridge will be seen boosting commerce between the two allied countries. It will also connect the two continents, Africa and Asia, and result in increasing trade between the two continents to unprecedented levels.

Know About The Red Sea –

•Lying between Africa and Asia, The Red Sea is a seawater inlet of the Indian Ocean. 

•Through the Bab el Mandeb strait and the Gulf of Aden, the connection to the ocean is in the south. Whereas, in the north, there is the Sinai Peninsula, the Gulf of Aqaba, and the Gulf of Suez.

•It is a Global 200 ecoregion. The sea is underlain by the Red Sea Rift which is part of the Great Rift Valley.

Coca-Cola World Rankings 2016 released by – FIFA

FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) released the April 2016 edition of the FIFA or Coca-Cola World Ranking.

In this ranking, it includes 51 qualifiers for Russia 2018 and 60 continental qualifiers and 60 international friendlies.
