Who won 2015 J C Daniel Award - K G George

On 6th September 2016, Film director K.G. George won prestigious J.C. Daniel Award for his outstanding contribution in the field of Malayalam film industry.
He will be given in award in October 2016 at a function to be held at Palakkad.
Full name of K.G. George is Kulakkatil Geevarghese George.

J. C. Daniel Award started in 1992 and considered as highest award in Malayalam cinema. First recipient of this award was Actor Madhu.

Which film won best film award at first BRICS Film Festival - Thithi

Among Important Awards, On 6th September 2016, Kannada movie Thithi was awarded with Best Film Award at the first BRICS Film Festival.
BRICS film festival was a five day long festival in which various movies from India, Brazil, Russia, China and South Africa (BRICS Nations) were screened.

Light Utility Helicopter was successfully tested by - Hindustan Aeronautics Limited

On 6th September 2016, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited completed test flight of indigenous Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) successfully.
Light Utility Helicopter is supposed to replace Chetak and Cheetah helicopters of Indian Army and Indian Air Force so it has a great importance.
Important to mention here that it has single engine and can have six passengers and two pilots. From 2019-20 HAL will ship approx 30 LUHs annually which will be doubled in second phase, though HAL will first need to get initial operational certification for same.

Name of fast attack craft handed over to Indian Navy by GRSE - TIHAYU

GRSE handed over the Water Jet Fast Attack Craft named TIHAYU to Indian Navy recently. It was 11th Attack Craft which was given to NAVY. It is named after an island which is located in Andaman.
This warship can accomodate 29 people and has displacement of around 315 Tons, has an endurance of around 2000 nautical miles at 12-14 knots speed.

Name of oldest cricketer who passed away - Lindsay Tuckett

On 5th September 2016, Oldest surviving former Test cricketer Lindsay Tuckett (South Africa) passed away. He was 97 years old.
He made his debut in 1947, he in total took 19 wickets which includes two 5 wicket hauls.
