Lucknow stadium renamed after Atal Bihari Vajpayee ahead of India-West Indies T20I match on - 5th November 2018

The newly-built Ekana International Stadium of Lucknow was renamed after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 5th November 2018.  The stadium will be known as 'Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium'.

The stadium was renamed just ahead of the first-ever international cricket match - the T20 International between West Indies and India.
The city hosted its first international match at the stadium on 6th November 2018 where India was playing against West Indies in the second T20 International match.
