Which state signed MoU for first Cow Sanctuary in state - Rajasthan
On 27th July 2018, Rajasthan inked MoU with private trust Sohanlalji Buladeviji Ojha Gaushala Samiti to build first Cow Sanctuary which will provide shelter to 10000 cows. Total area of this Sanctuary will be more than 220 hectares which will be build in Bikaner district.
Lok Sabha passes bill to replace - Homoeopathy council
On 30th July 2018, Lok Sabha passed bill to replace Central Council of Homoeopathy (CCH) with a board of governors. Homeopathy Central Council (Amendment) Bill 2018 was passed with a voice vote. This bill amendment was done with an aim to bring accountability and quality in the homeopathy colleges and education.
As per this bill, Central Council of Homoeopathy (CCH) will be reconstituted within a year. New board will comprise of seven eminent homeopathy practitioners and administrators who will be appointed by the government.
Parliament passes Bill for merger of five subsidiary banks with - SBI
On 30th July 2018, Indian Parliament passed the State Banks (Repeal and Amendment) Bill, 2017 that merges the subsidiary banks with the State Bank of India (SBI). Important to mention here that this merger is already into effect from 1st April, 2017 as Union government approved it earlier in February 2017.
These five banks are :
- State Bank of Bikaner,
- State Bank of Mysore,
- State Bank of Patiala,
- State Bank of Travancore and
- State Bank of Hyderabad.
US elevates India's status to ease export controls for - High-tech product sales
As per information shared by US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross on 30th July 2018, Export controls for high-technology product sales to India has been eased by United States. India has been given status of Strategic Trade Authorisation-1 (STA-1) country.
Now India will be having same access as NATO allies, Australia, Japan and South Korea. Now India will be able to buy more advanced and sensitive technologies from the United States. So India will be having greater supply chain efficiency, both for defence and other high-tech products.
