On 29th July which day is celebrated - International Tiger Day
Among Important International Current Affairs, On 29th July 2016 The International Tiger Day which is also known as Global TIGER Day was observed.
This day is celebrated with an aim to raise awareness for tiger conservation. The goal of observance of the International Day is basically to promote the protection and expansion of the wild tiger’s habitats and to gain support through awareness for tiger conservation.
However, number of international organisations are involved in the celebration of this day, including the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), the IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) etc.
Compensatory Afforestation Fund Bill, 2016 passed by – Parliament
Among Important National Current Affairs, The Compensatory Afforestation Fund Bill, 2016 has been passed by The Parliament. However, it was first approved by the Rajya Sabha.
This bill also provides for establishment of funds under the public accounts of the Centre and State levels for compensatory afforestation.

Which bank trust opens for public - Madras Crocodile Bank Trust
In fourth week of July 2016, Madras Crocodile Bank Trust and Centre for Herpetology came in news because it is celebrating its 40 years of opening its gate for the public.

Who resigns as Chairman of National Dairy Development Board - T Nanda Kumar
Among Important National Current Affairs, T Nanda Kumar has resigned from the post of Chairman of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). T Nanda Kumar had submitted his resignation one month before on 29th June 2016.
On 27th July 2016, Kumar’s resignation was accepted by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet.
However, T Nanda Kumar had a five-year term ending in 2019, will be relieved on 1 August 2016.
IMD to use supercomputer to forecast monsoon with - Dynamical Model
In the last week of July 2016, The Union Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) declared that India Meteorological Department (IMD) will use supercomputer to forecast India’s annual summer monsoon.
The forecast made by a supercomputer which will be based on a dynamical monsoon model. It will be operational from 2017.
