48 people conferred Jeevan Raksha Padak awards on - 26th January 2019

The Indian President has approved the Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards – 2018 conferment on 48 people, 8 of them posthumously.

These Jeevan Raksha Padak series of awards are conferred for the meritorious act of human nature in saving the human life. They are given under three categories: Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak and Jeevan Raksha Padak. Every common person who has done this type of great and noble work is eligible for these awards.

This year, the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak is granted to 8 people, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak to 15 and Jeevan Raksha Padak to 25 people. Among all, 8 awards were conferred posthumously.

The award decoration included a medal and a certificate signed by the Union Home Minister and monetary allowance presented to the awardee in due course by the respective organisations, Union Ministries, and state government to which the awardee belongs.
