Who was appointed as Director-General of TERI - Ajay Mathur
On 24th July 2015, Ajay Mathur was appointed as new Director-General (DG) of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) by TERI Governing Council. Before him this post was held by R K Pachauri. Important to mention here that R K Pachauri was removed from this post after sexual harassment charges.

TERI is a non profit organization that was formed in 1974 with an aim to conduct research work in the fields of energy, environment and sustainable development. In starting its name was Tata Energy Research Institute.
Who was chosen for Fukuoka Asian Culture Prize 2015 - Ramachandra Guha
On 24th July 2015, Ramachandra Guha who is a noted historian was chosen for prestigious Fukuoka Asian Culture Prize 2015 in the Academic Category and he will be receiving this prize on 17th September 2015 in Fukuoka International Congress Center in Japan.

- Famous book "India After Gandhi" is written by Ramachandra Guha.
- The Fukuoka Asian Culture Prize was constituted in 1990 by Japanese city of Fukuoaka with an aim to recognise outstanding achievements by individuals or groups in preserving and creating the unique and diverse cultures of Asia and being offered in three categories which are Grand prize, Academic prize and Arts and Culture prize.
All India Council of Sports was constituted by - Union Government
On 24th July 2015, All India Council of Sports was formed by Union Govt. It was formed as an advisory body for the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. This council will have a President in the rank of Minister of State and will have members like four Members of Parliament, Sports personalities, coaches, sports experts, sports administrators, D-G of Sports Authority of India, D-G of National Anti Doping Agency, Vice Chancellor of LNIPE, officials from Sports Ministry and apart from this it will also have repersentatives from National Sports Federations, Indian Olympic Association and NGOs.
Who were awarded with first-ever Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela Prize - Helena Ndume and Jorge Sampaio
On 24th July 2015, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela Prize was awarded to Helena Ndume of Namibia and Jorge Sampaio of Portugal. It was the first time ever this prize was awarded by United Nations as this prize was established only in June 2014.
Helena Ndume is a female ophthalmologist and has treated blindness and eye-related illnesses in Namibia and throughout the developing world while Jorge Sampaio is former president of Portugal (1996-2006) was awarded for his struggle for restoration of democracy in Portugal and his all the contributions.

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela Prize was constituted in June 2014 by UN General Assembly with aim to pay homage to Nelson Mandela's extraordinary life and legacy of reconciliation, political transition and social transformation.
Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana was launched by - PM Narendra Modi
Among the National Current Affairs, On 25th July 2015, Deendayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana was launched by PM Narendra Modi in Patna. DeenDayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana is aimed to provide electrification to all villages and feeder separation to ensure sufficient power to farmers and regular supply to other consumers by improving sub-transmission and distribution network. It wil also work on increasing Agriculture Yield and Improvement in Health, Education, Banking (ATM) services, Internet etc.
Apart from this following projects were also launched :
- Inaugurated the Daniawan-Bihar Sharif new railway line,
- Flagged off the Rajgir-Bihar Sharif-Daniawan-Fatuha passenger train and Patna-Mumbai AC Suvidha Express,
- Inaugurated campus of IIT Patna,
- Laid the foundation stone for Incubation Centre for Medical Electronics, Patna,
- Inaugurated the construction of the first phase of the Jagdishpur-Haldia pipeline project.
Charges were dropped against three cricketers in - IPL spot-fixing
On 25th July 2015, Three cricketers S. Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan along with other 37 accused were discharged from IPL Spot fixing charges. Delhi Police had registered a case of IPL Spot fixing against them in IPL season 6 held in 2013.
The three players of Rajasthan Royals, along with 11 bookies, were arrested from Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Delhi in May 2013.
Delhi Police had filed a chargesheet July 30, 2013.
R S Gavai passed away, he was - Former Kerala, Bihar Governor
On 25th July 2015, Former Governor of Kerala and Bihar R S Gavai passed away. He was 86 years old. He was a famous Dalit leader.
R S Gavai was member of Maharashtra Legislative Council from 1964 to 1994 and had served as chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council and was elected to the Lok Sabha from Amravati. He was appointed as Governor of Bihar in 2006 and shifted to Kerala in 2008, where he served till August 2011.
Kalpataru Das passed away, he was - BJD MP from Odisha
On 25th July 2015, Rajya Sabha MP Kalpataru Das passed away at the age of 65. He was a senior BJD leader. He was former cabinet minister of Naveen Patnaik (Biju Janata Dal).
