Shankar Ghosh passed away, he was a - Renowned Tabla player
On 22nd January 2016, Eminent Tabla player Pandit Shankar Ghosh passed away at the age of 80 in Kolkata. He was from Farukhabad gharana of Hindustani classical music.
For his great contribution in the field of music he was awarded with Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in the year 2000 and was also a recipient of ITC Sangeet Research Academy award and Ustad Hafiz Ali Khan award.
World Economic Situation and Prospects 2016 report was launched by - UNESCAP
On 19th January 2016, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) released World Economic Situation and Prospects (WESP) 2015 report. As per this report in 2015 global growth was 2.4 percent.
If we talk about India, then this report says that India will be the fastest growing big economy in the world in 2016 and India's growth rate will be at 7.3 percent.
Giriputrika Kalyana Pathakam Scheme for tribal people was launched by - AP Government
On 22nd January 2016, Andhra Pradesh Government launched Giriputrika Kalyana Pathakam Scheme. This scheme is launched with an aim to support tribal women. This scheme was launched by Social Welfare Minister of AP Mr. Ravela Kishore Babu.
As per this scheme one time financial assistance of 50000 rupees to each tribal woman who gets married.
