Who has presented the Dr Abdul Kalam IGNITE award - President Pranab Mukherjee

On 30th November 2015, a total of 40 school students of 27 districts from 18 states were presented with the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE awards 2015 by President Pranab Mukharjee.

They were awarded for 31 grass root innovations at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE Award is a national contest of technological ideas and innovations by children out of school up to the age of 17 years or up to class 12.

National Innovation Foundation (NIF) in association with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Honey Bee Network, other State Educational Boards and other partners every year organize the contest.

Who has received lifetime achievement award at Asian Business Leadership Forum 2015 - Hinduja Brothers

On 29th November 2015, the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Hinduja Brothers at the annual Asian Business Leadership Forum (ABLF) Series in Dubai for the most powerful and influential business leaders.

ABLF Series' Royal Patron and the UAE's Minister of Culture Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan presented the award to Gopichand P Hinduja, Co-Chairman, Hinduja Group of Companies, The Hinduja Group, UK.

Which mission has been launched by the World leaders for accelerating clean energy revolution - Mission Innovation

On 30th November 2015, Mission Innovation was launched by the World leaders for enhancing clean energy revolution around the globe.

As per the mission, the countries participating in the mission will have to double their clean energy research and development funding till 2020.

Key features of Mission Innovation

• It aims to modernize and enhance global clean energy innovation with the objective to make clean energy easily available.
• It will increase the efforts to provide affordable and reliable energy for everyone.
• It was initiated as a long term global response to tackle the problem of climate change.
• Participating countries are: Chile, France, Germany, Mexico, Norway, South Korea, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, China, Denmark, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, the USA, Australia, Brazil and Canada.

Who has been awarded with four Guinness World Record certificates - Robert Lewandowski

On 30th November 2015, Guinness World Record officially recognised Polish's professional footballer Robert Lewandowski’s nine-minute, five-goal haul for German Football Club Bayern Munich.

He was presented with four separate official Guinness World Records certificates for his goal.

The Polish star scored five goals in nine minutes during the league encounter with Wolfsburg on 22nd September 2015. It was the fastest in any major European football league since records have been kept.

Who has launched IPV injection as part of Global Polio Endgame Strategy - Union Government

On 30th November 2015, the injectable Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV) was launched as part of its commitment to the Global Polio Endgame Strategy by the Union Government.

The was launched by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda launched the IPV injection in New Delhi.

Main highlights of the Initiative

• Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar will be covered under the first phase.
• It will be injected to children below one year of age along with the third dose of the Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) at the routine immunization sessions.
• IPV and OPV together will further enhance the children’s immune system and will provide double protection against polio.

Which two countries launched International Solar Alliance - India & France

On 30th November 2015, India and France launched the International Solar Alliance in Paris. PM Narendra Modi and French President Francois Hollande launched the alliance during the United Nations climate change conference.

Highlights of the alliance

• Its purpose is to bring 121 tropical countries together to tap solar energy.
• It will enable solar-rich developing countries to make the best use of an abundant, free natural resource.
• Tasks that the Alliance would follow are, regulatory issues, common standards, investment including joint ventures, cooperation in training and building institutions.

Who has been elected president of Burkina Faso - Roch Marc Christian Kabore

Among the important International Current Affairs, On 30th November 2015, Roch Marc Christian Kabore was elected as the President of the West African country Burkina Faso.

He defeated Zephirin Diabre and Tahirou Barry who stood second and third respectively.
