India inks Project Collaboration Agreement with whom to promote traditional medicine – WHO
Among Important National Current Affairs India has signed a historic Project Collaboration Agreement (PCA) with World Health Organization (WHO) for cooperation on promoting the quality, safety and effectiveness of service provision in traditional and complementary medicine.
The aims of PCA are to supporting WHO in the development and implementation of the ‘WHO Traditional and Complementary Medicine Strategy.
Know About PCA
• For the period 2016-2020, PCA will contribute to the global promotion of traditional Indian Systems of Medicine.
• PCA will deliver for the first time WHO benchmark document for training in Yoga, and WHO benchmarks for practice in Ayurveda, Unani and Panchakarma.
Fatma Samoura named first female secretary general of - FIFA Council
Among Important International Current Affairs, Senegalese UN diplomat Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura (54) has been named as Secretary General of FIFA (International Federation of Association Football) Council.
By FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the announcement in this regard was made at the 66th FIFA Congress held in Mexico City.
Along with this, she becomes first female to be named as Secretary General of FIFA Council.

• Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura is a Senegalese senior United Nations (UN) official.
• Presently, she is the most senior UN official in Nigeria. She was appointed as first female FIFA's Secretary General on 13 May 2016.
Justice Naveen Sinha sworn-in as Chief Justice of - Rajasthan HC
Among Important National Current Affairs, Justice Naveen Sinha has sworn in as the 31st Chief Justice of Rajasthan.
As per the provisions of the Article 219 of Constitution, Naveen Sinha was administered the oath to the office by Governor Kalyan Singh.
As per provisions Article 222 of Constitution, Naveen Sinha was appointed by President Pranab Mukherjee after following recommendation of the Supreme Court collegium headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) T.S. Thakur.
Since July 2014, Prior to the transfer, Justice Naveen Sinha was Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court.

• Naveen Sinha obtained LL.B. degree after completing a bachelor’s degree in arts.
• In 1979, Naveen Sinha had joined bar and had practised for 23 years primarily at Patna High Court.
National Intellectual Property Rights Policy approved by - Union Cabinet
Among Important National Current Affairs, on 12 May 2016 The Union Cabinet approved the National Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Policy that will lay the future roadmap for intellectual property in India.
This Policy recognizes the abundance of creative and innovative energies that flow in India, and the need to tap into and channelise these energies towards a better and brighter future for all.
However, The National Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Policy will endeavor for a “Creative India; Innovative India: ???????? ????; ????? ????”.

Haryana Government notified - Backward Classes Act 2016
On 13 May 2016, Haryana Government notified the Haryana Backward Classes (Reservation in Services and Admission in Educational Institutions) Act 2016.
The act was enacted to provide reservation to Jats and four other castes in services and admission in educational institutions in the state.
Few Highlights of Haryana Backward Classes Act 2016
• The Haryana Backward Classes Act 2016 provides 10 percent reservation in service for Class III and IV posts and six percent reservation in Class I and II posts to the Jat, Jat Sikhs, Ror, Bishnoi, Tyagi, Mulla Jat or Muslim Jat in Schedule III.
• It also provides 10 percent reservation for admissions to educational institutions to people belonging to these castes.
