    Which Government announced to reserve 2 percent employment for meritorious sportspersons - Jharkhand Government

    On 10 April 2016, Jharkhand Chief Minister Ragbubar Das announced that the government would reserve two percent employment in various departments for meritorious sportspersons of the state.

    At the inaugural function of the National Archery Championship (Indian round), the announcement was made at Arjuna stadium.

    Do You Know – 

    •To promote talented sportsperson, a Kamal (lotus) Club will be set up in each panchayat, block and district level of the state.

    •Rupees 3000 stipend to archers have been provided by the state government whereas, the welfare department provide 3 lakhs rupees for purchase of equipment.

    •Archery training centres at Seraikela, Dumka and Silli have been set up by the state government.

    In which country UN-backed ceasefire came into force - Yemen

    On 10 April 2016 at midnight, The UN-backed ceasefire between Shi’ite Houthi rebels in Yemen and the Saudi-led coalition supporting government forces came into force in Yemen. 

    According to Saudi-led coalition supporting government forces, it will respect the ceasefire but reserves the right to respond to any rebel attacks.

    The main aim of the truce is giving a boost to the peace talks scheduled for 18 April 2016 in Kuwait, where the rebels will discuss the peace terms with the government of internationally recognised President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi.

    Who won 2016 US Masters golf championship - Danny Willett

    On 10 April 2016, an English professional golfer Danny Willett won the US Masters, the first Briton to do so since Nick Faldo in 1996. 

    After defeating defending champion Jordan Spieth, Willett grabbed this title.

    With a score of 283 (–5) Willett won his first major championship, three strokes ahead of runners-up Lee Westwood and Jordan Spieth. Spieth led the tournament from the first round until the 12th hole of the final round, where he made a quadruple-bogey.

    Lamborghini appointed whom as Head of India Operations - Sharad Agarwal

    Lamborghini, an Italian luxury sports car maker announced the appointment of former Audi India executive Sharad Agarwal as Head of India operations.

    As Sharad Agarwal, who is the head of Lamborghini India will be responsible to drive the entire activities for the company in the subcontinent which includes overseeing sales, marketing, after sales and network development.

    •Since May 2012, Agarwal has been associated with Audi India as Head of Corporate Sales, Fleet and Leasing and Financial Services. It was year 2013, when he moved as Head of Field Forces.

    •Sharad Agarwal has also been associated with Zuari Industries, TVS Motor Company and Mahindra First Choice.

    In which place of Kerala fire accident took place - Puttingal Temple

    On 10 April 2016, at least 110 people were killed in a fire accident at Puttingal Devi temple during a festival at Paravur in Kollam district of Kerala. More than 380 people are injured and were admitted to various hospitals.

    This tragedy took place at around 3.30 am during display of fireworks at the temple complex, which is almost 70 kms from the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. Now, the fire has been brought under control.

    Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and the state’s Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala all rushed to the disaster spot and asked for exempting the treatment to the injured from the purview of the Election Code of Conduct.
