CTET Exam
Updated : 16-Jun-2017Central Board of Secondary Education organize Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). These exams are primarily conducted by the aspirants who are willing to join NVS/KVS/Tibetan School etc. as a Teacher. CTET is an All India entrance exam conducted every year.
In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) vide Notification gives the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII.
Essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in Clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.
CTET Educational Qualification for Classes I-V
·Candidates completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). Or,
· Candidates completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with minimum 45% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration), according to the NCTE Regulations 2002. Or,
· Candidates completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor of Elementary Education (4 years duration).Or,
· Candidates completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with acquiring minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Education (2 years duration). Or,
· Candidates with Bachelor’s degree and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration).
CTET Educational Qualification for Classes VI-VIII
· Candidates with Graduation degree and passed or appearing in final year examination of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). Or,
· Candidates completed their Graduation degree with 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor in Education. Or,
· Candidates completed their Graduation degree with 40% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor in Education, according to NCTE regulations.
· Candidates Who have completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of 4 years duration Bachelor of Elementary Education.
· Candidates completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed. Or,
· Candidates having Graduation degree with minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in B.Ed program of 1 year duration.
How to Apply for CTET
· It’d be possible to apply for CTET through its official website i.e. ctet.nic.in.
· It is very important to verify your eligibility before you begin the application procedure.
· Upload your photograph and signature in the prescribed format is also necessary.
· Candidates are instructed to take printout of confirmation page for future record.
CTET Exam Pattern
· Paper I is conducted for aspirants appearing as a teacher for class I to V.
· Paper II is conducted for aspirants appearing as a teacher for class VI to VIII.
· Candidates interested for both are required to appear for both papers.
