AFMC Exam - Syllabus, Eligibility and Exam Pattern

AFMC which is known as The Armed Forces Medical College, Pune shortlists the candidates for admission into the institute for MBBS Programme by inviting applications during the month of April (tentative). 

Here, the scores which are obtained in AIPMT are considered in conjunction with the ToELR test which is conducted by the institute only. 

Now you must be shocked that what is this ToELR means? It is basically stands for Test of English, Language, Comprehension, Logic, and Reasoning. It is also followed by psychological assessment interview to shortlist a candidate. 

However, the results are mostly announced during the month of August. In MBBS, the total number of seats available at this institute is 130, in which 25 seats are reserved for girls and 105 for the boys. Out of the 130, ten seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates. Those candidates who are desirous of getting MBBS admission in this institute must apply for AFMC MBBS examination by registering online.

Know About The application form – 

The form can be easily available for download next year during the month of April. Interested candidates must fill the application form online and can complete the formalities of registration process. 

Keep in mind that this registration must be done before the last date of registration mentioned by the AFMC. The registration process needs a candidate to check the login for UG link and then click the new user icon. 

However, this opens up the data form with mandatory fields to be filled in capital letters. All the candidates are required to fill up personal details like email address, date of birth, etc, accurately and without fail before proceeding to the next page. Once registration is done, the candidate receives the password in the email address registered. It further is used to login and fill the qualification details for the application form.

The online documents which need uploading also includes photograph of the candidate with his/her signature. Both the documents should not exceed the 500 KB limit. Also the application fee for the application is Rs 250 which can be remitted through SBI Bank challan.

•The age limit should be between 17 years to 22 years.

•Mandatory educational qualifications required includes, the candidate having passed Mathematics in the secondary board examination. 

•Candidates must pass the higher secondary or 10+2 or any equivalent exam covering Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and English, in his/her first attempt. The aggregate marks should not be less than 60%.

As we discussed earlier about the ToELR, it is a computer-based test which consists of 40 multiple choice questions, each carrying 2 marks. There is also negative marking of 0.5 for every wrong answer. 

However, the duration for answering all the 40 questions is just only 30 minutes.

While the maximum marks adding to the 720 of the AIPMT is 800 for which the candidate is evaluated. This score is then divided by 4, to arrive at a total score for 200 marks. 

Also the interview is awarded a maximum of about 50 marks which constitutes the total maximum score of 250.
