The Supreme Court ordered the arrest of the Sahara chief Subrata Roy on 26 February 2014. The court ordered his arrest following his failure to appear before it in a case arising out of non refund of money to its investors.

However Sahara chief Subrata Roy on Thursday tendered an "unconditional apology" to the Supreme Court for his non-appearance in a contempt case and sought recall of the non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued against him.

    Important to note :

The arrest warrant was issued against Subrata Roy in connection with the case in which his two companies — Sahara India Real Estate Corp Ltd and Sahara India Housing Investment Corp Ltd — have been directed to refund Rs 20,000 crore to investors.
