Russian martial art Sambo recognized by OCA, will be a part of Asian Games

Russian martial art Sambo has been recognised by Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and has become part of the Asian Games. The decision of recognition to Sambo Union of Asia was taken by the Executive Board of OCA on 17 January 2014 at Manila, Philippines.

According to the International Sambo Federation, the board met during the ongoing 32nd General Assembly of the pan-Asian continental body. With this finalization, Sambo became a part of the combat sports on the list of OCA like Wrestling, Wushu, Judo and Taekwondo.
