Emergency rule imposed in Bangkok, capital of Thailand for two months
Updated : 26-Jan-201460 day state of emergency has been imposed in Bangkok by the Thailand government on 21 January 2014. The emergency measure came into effect from 22 January 2014.
The emergency has been imposed to suppress the anti-government protest that has blocked the parts of the capital.
The emergency decree bans public gatherings, censor the news reports and imposition of curfew for next 60 days.
Deputy Interior Minister, Visarn Techateerawat announced emergency after a cabinet meeting.
