Who was appointed as new MD and CEO of National Housing Bank - Sriram Kalyanaraman
Among the Important Banking Current Affairs, On 8th July 2015, Sriram Kalyanaraman was appointed as new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National Housing Bank (NHB). He will be serving at this post till five years and with this appointment he also became first person from the Private Sector to head a Public Sector Financial Institution.
He was serving as Director-Business Development of Equifax Credit Information Services at the time of appointment.

National Housing Bank (NHB) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and was set up on 9th July 1988 under the National Housing Bank Act, 1987 with an aim to operate as a principal agency to promote housing finance institutions both at local and regional levels and to provide financial to such institutions.
Who was appointed as MD and CFO of Bharti Enterprises - Rahul Bhatnagar
On 8th July 2015, Rahul Bhatnagar was appointed as new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Bharti Enterprises and he will be reporting to Chairman of Bharti Enterprises Sunil Bharti Mittal.
He succeeded Manoj Kohli who is now Executive Chairman of SBG Cleantech, a Joint Venture between SoftBank, Bharti and Foxconn for renewable energy.
Prerna Sthal at Hussainiwala was dedicated to the nation by - Indian Army
Among Important National Current Affairs, On 8th July 2015, Monument named Prerna Sthal at Hussainiwala was dedicated to the nation by Indian Army. This monument was built to honour the sacrifice of Indian Soldiers.
Hussainiwala village is located in Firozpur district of Punjab state of India. It the same place where Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Sukhdev and Shaheed Rajguru were cremated on 23rd March 1931.
General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, Lt Gen KJ Singh laid the inaugural wreath and observed a two minute silence as a mark of respect to the martyrs.
Who was appointed as new Home Secretary of Delhi - SN Sahai
On 8th July 2015, Senior IAS officer Sanjeev Nandan Sahai was appointed as the new Home Secretary of Delhi. SN Sahai is a 1986 batch officer of Union Territory cadre.
He succeeded senior IAS officer Dharam Pal, who was removed as Home Secretary in June 2015 by the AAP government.
For what purpose Ashwini Nachappa committee was constituted by Union Sports Ministry - To study status of SAI training centers
On 8th July 2015, Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports constituted a committee to study status of Sports Authority of India (SAI) training centers across the country. This committe also known as Ashwini Nachappa committe as it is being headed by former athlete Ashwini Nachappa. There are total eight members which includes Pullela Gopi Chand.
This committee will be submitting its report within 3 months. It was formed after there was suicide attempt by four girl inmates at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) SAG Water Sports centre at Alappuzha, Kerala. It will give its recommendations so that these type sad incidents do not occur in future.
Nagaland's disturbed area status was extended by - One year
Disturbed area status of Nagaland has been extended for one year by Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) which became effective from 30th June 2015 till 30th June 2016.
Complete Nagaland was declared as a disturbed area for a period of one year in exercise of the powers conferred to Union Government by Section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act 1958.

Among Important Banking Current Affairs, On 7th July 2015, central banks of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa that are known as BRICS nations signed Mutual Assistance Agreement (MAA) aimed at operationalising the BRICS Contingent Reserve Arrangement (CRA) of 100 billion US dollars.

- Features of BRICS Contingent Reserve Arrangement is to provide mutual support (monetary funds in US dollars) in the event that national financial systems encounter dollar liquidity problems.
- The CRA along with the New Development Bank are part of the BRICS framework that is aimed at maintaining financial stability in the BRICS countries.
- Total committed resources of the CRA are 100 billion US dollars, with individual commitments- China (41 billion), Brazil (18 billion), Russia (18 billion), India (18 billion) and South Africa (5 billion).
- It will come into force on 30th July 2015.
Name of the first Indian who won the Gold Medal at World University Games in Gwangju - Inderjeet Singh
On 8th July 2015, Indian shot-putter Inderjit Singh created history by becoming first Indian to win a gold medal at the World University Games. He secured first spot by throwing 20.27 meter in the final attempt.
