Laxmikant Parsekar sworn-in as Goa's new Chief Minister as Manohar Parrikar resigned
On 8th November 2014, Laxmikant Parsekar sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Goa as former CM Manohar Parrikar resigned. As Parrikar resigned so his state cabinet of 12 ministers was also dissolved.
As per the news Manohar Parrikar may take up the post of Defence minister in the Union Cabinet on 9 November 2014.
Havells India Limited chairman Qimat Rai Gupta passed away at 77
On 7th November 2014, Chairman of electrical equipment maker Havells India Limited group, Qimat Rai Gupta passed away at the age of 77.
Qimat Rai Gupta started Havells India Limited in 1971 and then took it to international level by transforming it into multinational company as now it has operations across 51 countries.

In 2007 Havells acquired Europe headquartered Sylvania Lighting which made it among four top lighting companies in the world.
Suzlon installed world's tallest hybrid wind turbine in Kutch
On 6th November 2014, Wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon Energy installed the tallest hybrid wind generator turbine of world in Kutch, Gujrat. This installed turbine will be generating 12-15 percent more energy.
Height of this turbine is 120 metre, usually conventional wind turbines are of 80 metres. It is estimated that this region will be having 2000 MW wind energy capacity.
MoU signed between India and Bhutan to develop Nalanda University
On 7th November 2014, India and Bhutan signed a MoU to develop Nalanda University in Bihar as an international centre of excellence. As per MoU Nalanda University will have power to confer degrees, diplomas and certificates. It aims at building an Asian community of learning where the intellectual potential of every student can be developed to the fullest extent possible.
Who Signed MoU :
This MoU was signed by Indian foreign secretary Sujatha Singh and her Bhutanese counterpart Yeshey Dorji.
