Who has been appointed as new DG of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research - Dr M.O. Garg

Charge of Director General (DG) of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) was taken by Dr M.O. Garg. He succeeded PS Ahuja who was serving at this post since May 2014.

Dr M.O. Garg is a gold medalist in Chemical Engineering from Nagpur University and also have done M.Tech from IIT Kanpur. He completed PhD from University of Melbourne.

Who has been appointed as new Special Coordinator for Middle East peace by UN - Nickolay Mladenov

On 5th February 2015, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon appointed Nickolay Mladenov of Bulgaria as his new Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process and Personal Representative to the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority.

Mr. Nickolay Mladenov is currently head of the UN Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) and will be succeeding Robert Serry of the Netherlands.

Who was elected by Greek Parliament as its new President - Zoe Konstantopoulou

Among Important International Current Affaris, Zoe Konstantopoulou who is a member of the left wing party Syriza has been elected by Greek Parliament as its new President. She was elected by receiving a record number of 235 of 300 votes in the Parliament. With this won she became youngest ever elected as President of the Greek Parliament.

By profession she is a lawyer and specialized in National, European and International Criminal Law and Human Rights. 

Which Indian CEO was appointed by US President as member of the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations - Ajay Banga

On 6th February 2015, US President Barack Obama appointed top Indian-American CEO Ajay Banga as member of the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations.

Mr Banga has done MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and currently president and CEO of MasterCard and he is holding this post since 2009.
