Union Environment Ministry constitutes Four-Member team for Conservation of - Loktak Lake

Among Important Ntaional Current Affairs, in Manipur The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has constituted a four-member team for conservation and management of Loktak Lake.

However, the team will visit Loktak Lake and hold discussions with the State government, its concerned agencies and other stakeholders including people living in the vicinity of the lake.

International Day for Preventing Exploitation of Environment in War and Armed Conflict observed on – 6th November

Which company becomes first firm to get debt recast under RBI’s S4A Scheme – HCC

Among Important National Current Affairs, Construction major Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) became India’s first firm to get debt recast under RBI’s new Scheme for Sustainable Structuring of Stressed Assets (S4A). 

However, the RBI-mandated Overseeing Committee (OC) under the S4A, which has approved HCC’s Rs. 5,000-crore debt recast passed by an ICICI Bank-led joint lender forum in September 2016.

Indian Women’s hockey team wins - 2016 Asian Champions Trophy

Among Important Sports Current Affairs, Indian Women’s hockey team has won the 2016 Asian Champions Trophy, which was held in Singapore. 

However, it was the maiden win of Indian Women’s hockey team in Asian Champions Trophy. 

Also in summit clash held in Singapore, India defeated China by 2-1 goals. The first goal for India was scored by Deep Grace Ekka in the 13th minut,e which was equalised by China’s Zhong Mengling in the 44th minute. Whereas, the second and winning goal was scored by Deepika Thakur that gave the India formidable lead to win the tournatment.

Name the former J&K Deputy Chief Minister who passes away recently - Mangat Ram Sharma

Among Important National Current Affairs, on 3rd November 2016 the former Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Deputy Chief Minister Mangat Ram Sharma passed away at the age of 85. He was suffering from a prolonged illness. He is survived by six sons.

However, he played an important role in cooperative movement in the state and successfully headed the Kathua district cooperative society for some years before he became a member of the legislative council.
