One-time licensing for drugs suggested by – DTAB
Among Important National Current Affairs DTAB which means The Drugs Technical Advisory Board has recommended one-time licensing for manufacture and sales of drugs.
However, if the recommendation will be approved it will change present of the renewal of licences for each formulation which rests with state regulators and takes around three years.
Also, the new rule will have a condition that there will be at least one annual inspection and in cases where risk is high.
Researchers found novel route to discover - New Drug Targets
Among Important International Current Affairs, researchers from the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), Delhi have finally found a novel route to discover new drug targets and potential drugs too.
However, these new drug targets route and potential drugs are mainly for parasites such as Loa loa nematode (roundworm) and Schistosoma mansoni platyhelminths (flatworm) that cause several diseases.

However, AIADMK supremo breathed her last at night around 11:30 PM at Apollo Hospital, Chennai.
Here, she was put on heart assist device following the attack and her condition was stated to be critical by senior doctors at the Apollo hospital.
Name the Joint maritime exercise which begins between India and UK - Konkan 16
Among Important National Current Affairs, the annual bilateral maritime exercise Konkan 16 between the Indian Navy and the Royal Navy (British Navy) started in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
However, from 5th December, 2016 to 16th December, 2016 the edition of the exercise will play an important chapter in the maritime interactions.
Here, it will also familiarise navies of both countries with each other’s planning processes and further enhance synergy and inter-operability.
The Lifeline Express to get two more coaches for - Cancer Treatment
The world’s first hospital train, Lifeline Express is all set to get two additional coaches for cancer treatment. The decision was announced by the Ministry of Railways on 5 December 2016.
Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu along with Health Minister JP Nadda will be inaugurating the new additions. The coaches are purely equipped for detection and control of oral, cervical and breast cancer and prevention of stroke. They will be accompanied by three fully equipped operation theatres.
Nation pays homage to Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar on his - Mahaparinirvan Diwas
Among Important National Current Affairs, on 6th December 2016 Dr BR Ambedkar the father of the Indian Constitution was in news. He came into news on his 60th death anniversary.
However, on this occasion lakhs of people converged at Chaitya Bhoomi to pay homage to him.
Though, Chaitya Bhoomi is the place where Ambedkar was cremated after his death on 6 December 1956.
