Union Government launches which abhiyan - Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva
Among Important National Current Affairs, The Union Government launched the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) to provide free health check-ups to pregnant women at government health centres and hospitals also.
However, the Scheme was launched by Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare J P Nadda in New Delhi.
In June, 2016 it was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his monthly radio address Mann Ki Baat.
On 5th November which day is celebrated - World Tsunami Awareness Day
Among Important International Current Affairs, on 5th November 2016 The First World Tsunami Awareness Day was observed across the world, with an aim to spread awareness among people across the world about Tsunami.
However, The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) had constituted the day by adopting a resolution in December 2015 only.
Also this proposal was first mooted by Japan after the 3rd UN Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, which was held in Sendai (Japan) in March 2015.

India-Bangladesh which joint military exercise has begun - SAMPRITI-2016
Among Important National Current Affairs, the seventh edition of India-Bangladesh joint military exercise SAMPRITI-2016 has commenced to practise counter-terrorism and disaster-management operations.
However, the 14-day (from 05 to 18 November 2016) joint military exercise will be held at Shaheed Salauddin Cantonment in Tangail, Dhaka (Bangladesh’s Capital).
Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2016 observed from – 31st October to 5th November
Among Important National Current Affairs, from 31st October to 5th November, 2016 Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2016 has been observed.
However, the Global MIL Week was organised under the theme Media and Information Literacy: New Paradigms for Intercultural Dialogue.
Also this was the sixth MIL Week and it was jointly organised by UNESCO, UNAOC, Global Alliance for Partnerships on Media and Information Literacy (GAPMIL) and the Media and Information Literacy and Intercultural Dialogue (MILID) International University Network, in partnership with the University of Sao Paulo.
