PM Modi inaugurated Indian Science Congress in Mumbai University
On 3rd January 2015, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi inaugurated the 102nd edition of the Indian Science Congress at Mumbai University.
On this Occasion PM said that Our scientists should be able to explore the mysteries of science and not get stuck in government procedures. He also said that We have to place the university system at the cutting edge of the research and development activities in the country.
Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr Harsh Wardhan and chief minister Devendra Fadnavis were also present at this occasion.
Boxing India recognised as national federation for representing Boxing by Sports Ministry
Among the Important Sports Current Affairs, On 2nd January 2015, Boxing India (BI) was recognised as the governing body for representing boxing in India by Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Boxing India was allowed to use the name under the Emblems & Names (Prevention of Improper use) Act, 1950 by Ministry. Boxing India has been constituted with the support of 32 state boxing associations.

ICICI Bank launched Digital Village Project in Akodara Village of Gujarat
On 2nd January 2015, ICICI Bank launched Digital Village Project in Akodara Village of Gujarat. This project is aimed to provide services ranging from cashless banking to digitised school teaching with three themes which are cashless, comprehensive and connected.
Project was launched to mark the 60 year celebration of the ICICI group existence as it was set up in 1955.
