Name the oldest woman to complete a marathon - 92-year-old Harriette Thompson
Among the important International Current Affairs, On 1st June 2015, a 92 year 65 days, Harriette Thompson, became the oldest woman to finish a marathon.

She achieved this gala by completing the race in 7 hours, 24 minutes, 36 seconds at San Diego’s Rock 'n' Roll Marathon of 42.2 kilometers (26.2 miles). This was the hardest and 16th Rock 'n' Roll Marathon for her.
With this achievement, Harriette Thompson of Charlotte, North Carolina got her name addressed into the record books. Earlier the record was in the name of Gladys Burrill, who inscribed her name at the age of 92 years and 19 days at the 2010 Honolulu Marathon.

Name the programme launched by Union Ministry of Women and Child Development - IAP HealthPhone programme
Among the important National Current Affairs, On 2nd June 2015, the IAP HealthPhone programme was launched by the Union Minister of Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi. It is the world’s largest digital mass education programme for addressing the malnutrition in women and children.
This programme is supported by Vodafone India and was developed by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) in association with the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development, UNICEF.
Features of the IAP HealthPhone programme
- IAP HealthPhone programme aims to confront the challenge of malnutrition in mothers and children across India.
- It is a public-partnership initiative that leverages the increasing penetration of mobile phones in the country to educate over 6 million girls and women between 13 and 35 years of age and their families on better health and nutrition practices by 2018.
- Wide promotion and distribution of four re-edited videos from the Poshan videos in 18 Indian languages will help the programme to achieve its objectives.
- Vodafone has enabled its customers to view/download the videos free of data charges and the user will receive a talk time incentive of 10 rupees on viewing the 4 videos.
- This three-year campaign (2015-18) is expected to benefit the health of 60 million children in India born by 2025 and will be transformative for India’s fight against malnutrition.
Which state cabinet approved a Composite Renewable Energy Policy - Maharashtra Cabinet
On 2nd June 2015, a Composite Renewable Energy Policy worth 4156.43 crore rupees was approved by Maharashtra Cabinet to attract investment of 1 lakh crore rupees. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis approved the policy in a cabinet meet chaired by the policy was approved .
Till 2020, the motive of the policy is to achieve 14400 MW of installed capacity from the present 6700 MW.
The policy marks to increase the share of renewable energy in total electricity production in the state to 15% from 9%.
Out of the total 14400 MW installed capacity 400 MW from small hydro, 5000 MW from wind energy, 1000 MW from bagasse based co-generation, 7500 MW would come from solar energy, 200 MW from industrial waste and 300 MW from agriculture waste-based products.

Name the web portal launched by Union Government to exchange information on missing children - Khoya Paya web portal
Among the important National Current Affairs, On 2nd June 2015, The Union Government launched the Khoya Paya web portal Khoyapaya.gov.in, the first citizen based website to exchange information on missing and found children.
It was jointly launched by Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister of Communication & Information Technology and Maneka Gandhi, Union Minister of Women & Child Development.
The web portal has developed jointly by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY).
Citizen to citizen contact will be established by this web portal and will allow India to take part in search for missing children.
Who is appointed as CEO of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited - Punit Renjen
Among the important appointments, On 1st June 2015, Indian-American Punit Renjen was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (Deloitte Global).
Earlier to this appointment, Renjen was working as Chairman of the Board of Deloitte US. He will continue to work with the Deloitte U.S. firm until he adapt the the role of Deloitte Global CEO.
Punit is a member of the Boards of Directors at United Way Worldwide and at the US-India Business Council.
