The Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented the Union Budget 2018-19 on - February 1st, 2018.
In present budget, the government has declared several important plans to boost the poor and farmers.
Schemes Specifications-
- Kifayati Aawas Yojna:
The Central Government will form a dedicated inexpensive housing fund in National Housing Bank. In the Budget 2018-19, Jaitley I formed that "My government will set up a dedicated inexpensive housing fund in the National Housing Bank, which will be financed from the loans issud to priority sector. The government has designed that by the end of 2022, everyone will have their individual house. For this, over 1 crore households are being built in the rural sector in the present and coming financial year under the Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana.
- Ayushman Bharat Scheme:
National Health Protection Scheme will be initiated to cover 10 crore poor and unprotected families. In this, about Rs five lakh will be issued to each family yearly in secondary and tertiary care organizations. This scheme will have 50 crore beneficiaries. Till date under the National Health Insurance Scheme, insurance cover of Rs 30,000 were available only. This is a great addition in this regard.
- Kisan Credit Card to Fishermen:
On the lines of the Kisan Credit Card, the Finance Minister has declared a card to fishermen and cattle-owners. This will make facilitate them to use the easier loans. The Government says that this will aid the people linked with the milk production business in rural sectors. Apart from this, financial help will also be provided to fisheries.
- Gobar-Dhan Yojna:
The government declared a fresh scheme Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resource Fund plan under its efforts to improve the lives of the villagers. The Government informed that in this plan, solid waste of dung and fields will be converted into biogas, compost and bio-CNG. He informed that under the moto of inclusive society development, the government has finalised 115 districts for progress.
- National Bamboo Mission:
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has also suggested the proposal of National Bamboo Mission. An amount of Rs. 1,290 crores will be assigned in this plan. This will assist in the development of bamboo production industry. This will assist the people of rural and tribal sectors.
- Eklavya School:
According to the Finance Minister, the Eklavya schools will be formed for SC students by 2022 along the lines of Navodaya schools. He informed that Eklavya model residential schools will be formed in each Block having over 50% tribal sectors and 20,000 tribal persons. These schools will be part of Navodaya Vidyalayas and apart from training in sports and skill development, there will also be special facilities for preserving local art and civilization.
- Revitalising Infrastructure and Systems in Education:
In his Budget 2018 lecture, Jaitley unearthed a new plan known as Revitalising Infrastructure and Systems in Education- RISE. The RISE plan will be funded via a restructured higher education financing agency that is functioning for the past 2 months as a non-banking financial organization. It aims to lend low-cost funds to government higher educational organizations. Currently, HEFA is looking to elevate Rs20,000 crores and Budget declarations hiked this number to Rs1 trillion. While HEFA was approved a budgetary allotment of Rs.250 crores in the fiscal year 2018, in FY19, the lending body will be provided a budget of Rs.2,750 crores.
- Operation Green:
The aim of the plan is to double the farmers’ income by end of the year 2022. With the budget allotment of Rs. 500 Crores, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has declared about the Operation Green in Union Budget 2018. This plan will facilitate the farmers of the country. This will be in line with the operation flood. To decrease the fluctuation in the rates of Onion, Potatoes and Tomatoes the plan has been initiated.
- Prime Minister Fellowship Scheme:
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also declared the PM Fellowship Plan during the budget. In this, 1000 B.Tech students will be provided with the chance to do Ph.D. in IIT and IISc.
- Expansion of Ujjwala Scheme:
Modi Government has set a focused to give the number of free LPG connections to the poor families in the Ujjwala plan to reach eight crores.
- Saubhagya Yojna:
The government has focused to raise the number of power connections in rural sectors to 40 million houses. This plan is one of PM Modi's aspiring plans.
- Expansion of UDAN Yojna:
56 airports and 31 helipads being utilised less than the capacity will be summed into the plan to onnect common man with the ‘UDAN Yojna. Along with this, the declaration of the building ten major prestigious destinations for boosting the tourism was declared.
