Day of Remembrance for all Victims of Chemical Warfare 2017 observed on - 29th April 2017

On 29th April 2017, United Nations observed The Day of Remembrance for all Victims of Chemical Warfare 2017.

This day is being observed to pay tribute to the victims of chemical warfare and also to work towards the commitment to eliminate the threat of chemical weapons.

23 volumes of Basavanna's Vachana were released by PM Narendra Modi on birth anniversary of - 12th century social reformer Basavanna

On 29th April 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released 23 language versions of Basavanna's Vachana. It was done on the birth anniversary of Basavanna who was a great social reformer, philosopher and Kannada Poet of 12th century.

Basavanna lived during the Kalachuri-dynasty king Bijjala I in Karnataka and he used to spread social awareness through his poetry which was known as Vachanaas.

He also introduced instituations like Anubhava Mantapa which was aimed to feel spiritual experiences.
