RCEP members worry over market access to - China
Among Important International Current Affairs, including India, the 15 Asia-Pacific nations of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) are concern to give greater market access to Chinese goods without gaining in return.
However, all these countries in the RCEP grouping are also worried about agreeing to eliminate tariffs altogether, a move that will mainly help the country China.
IFFI to honour Im Kwon-taek with - Lifetime Achievement Award
Among Important Entertainment Current Affairs, on 1st November 2016 the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu has announced that renowned South Korean director Im Kwon-taek will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming 47th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
However, from 20th November to 28th November, 2016 the IFFI will take place.
Also the festival will pay a special tribute to late Polish filmmaker Andrzej Wajda and late Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami.
Here, the 47th edition of IFFI will have its country focus on Republic of Korea under which the best of Korean films will be screened.
Which country invites India to join fast-neutron reactor project – Russia
Among Important International Current Affairs, Russia has invited India to join in developing next-generation nuclear reactors and also to participate in its fast-reactor research project.
However, the multipurpose fast research reactor project known by Russian acronym MBIR is coming up as the International Research Centre (IRC) in Dimitrovgrad located in the Ulyanovsk region.
To achieve a corruption free society which week is observed across India - Vigilance Awareness Week
Among Important National Current Affairs, from 31st October 2016 Vigilance Awareness Week was observed across India with an aim to promote probity in public life and also to achieve a corruption free society.
However, the theme of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2016 was Public participation in promoting integrity and eradicating Corruption.
International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against whom is observed globally – Journalists
Among Important International Current Affairs, on 2nd November 2016 The International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists was observed globally.
However, this day is being celebrated with an aim to spread awareness against the violence and crimes done to journalists and media workers and to bring to justice perpetrators of crimes against journalists and media workers, and ensure that victims have access to appropriate remedies.
