Which famous Indian player became World No 1 in Badminton - Saina Newal

Among the Important Sports Current Affairs, On 29th March 2015, Noted Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal became world number one. She made history after Carolina Marin of Spain lost match in the India Open Super Series semi-final. She lost match while playing with Thai Ratchanok Intanon by 21-19 21-23 22-20. Thus Saina Nehwal became first Indian woman to be number one in the world rankings.

Name of the Scientist who has been chosen for U.S. presidential award - Murty Kambhampati

Indian American biology professor Murty Kambhampati has been chosen for prestigious U.S. presidential award for excellence in the field of science, mathematics and engineering mentoring. Apart from him 14 other other scientists has also been chosen for this award.

Mr. Murty S Kambhampati is a professor of biology at Southern University at New Orleans.

First Woman President of Basketball federation Of India - Poonam Mahajan

Among the Important Appointments Current Affairs, Poonam Mahajan was unanimously elected as the president of Basketball Federation of India (BFI). By this appointment she became the first woman as the president fo Basketball Federation of India as this 65 year old federation never had any woman president.

She is president of Maharashtra State Basketball Association (MSBA) and also the BJP national secretary and MP from the Mumbai North-Central Lok Sabha constituency.

She will be serving as president of BFI for a four-year (2015-2019) term and also after this appointment she also became the youngest president of any national federation in India.

Who won Malaysian GP - Sebestian Vettel

On 29th March 2015, Sebastian Vettel who is a Ferrari driver has won the Malaysian Grand Prix. 

Mercedes had won the previous eight races dating back to last season and had been expected to dominate through 2015, but in just the second race of this season, Vettel’s win indicated a potential fight for the championship ahead.

World cup 2015 title of cricket lifted by - Australia

On 29th March 2015, Australia lifted the World Cup title 2015 of Cricket. Australia defeated New Zealand to won this title. This was the fifth time Australia won this title. Before it Australia won this title in 1987, 1999, 2003 and 2007.
