Who were appointed as acting Governors of Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh - Banwarilal Purohit & P B Acharya
Among Important appointments, On 27th January 2017, Banwarlal Purohit and P B Acharya were appointed as acting Governors of Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh respectively by President Pranab Mukherjee.
As of now Banwarlal Purohit is serving as Governor of Assam while Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya is serving as Governor of Nagaland.
Who was appointed as Chancellor of Nalanda University - Dr Vijay Bhatkar
On 25th January 2017, Dr Vijay Bhatkar was appointed as Chancellor of Nalanda University by President of India Pranab Mukherjee.
Dr Vijay Bhatkar will be serving at this post for three years.

Name of Exercise of Indian Navy which began on 24th January 2017 - TROPEX 17
On 24th January 2017, Annual Theatre Readiness Operational Exercise (TROPEX) of Indian Army began at Western Seaboard. This is scheduled to held till fourth week of February 2017. In this excercise Ships and aircraft of both the Western and Eastern Naval Commands are participating and this excercise is aimed at testing the combat readiness of the combined fleets of the Indian Navy and the assets of the Indian Air Force, Indian Army and the Indian Coast Guard.
