Government launched which initiative - Swachh Swasth Sarvatra
Among Important National Current Affairs, Union Government launched Swachh Swasth Sarvatra initiative to strengthen health centres in open defecation-free (ODF) blocks.
However, the objective behind this initiative is to strengthen community health centres in 708 ODF blocks across the country to enable them to achieve higher levels of cleanliness and hygiene.
Name the Rajasthani writer who has been chosen for 2016 Bihari Puraskar - Satya Narayan
Among Important National Current Affairs, Dr Satya Narayan who is an Eminent Rajasthani litterateur has been chosen for the 26th Bihari Puraskar 2016 by the K K Birla Foundation.
However, he was been chosen for his Hindi book titled Yeh Ek Dunia which is a meticulous depiction of various circumstances of life in contemporary world published in 2010.
In this book he has built a model of new creativity and attempts to enter unseen aspects or dimensions, where human experiences and conscience are more important than life situations of contemporary time zone.
Government launched which platform to tackle call drops – IVRS
Among Important National Current Affairs, The Union Government has finally launched Integrated Voice Response System (IVRS) system in a bid to tackle the call drop menace.
However, the system was launched at multiple locations including the two metropolitan cities Delhi and Mumbai to obtain direct feedback from subscribers on call quality on the issue of frequent call drops.
Also, it is now available in Delhi, Mumbai, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and Goa and soon will be extended to the entire country.
Who has been appointed as a Director General of J&K Police - SP Vaid
On 28th December 2016, The Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed S P Vaid the new Director General of Police of the state.
However, Vaid is currently DG (law and order) and he will replace K Rajendra Kumar, who was appointed in May, 2014 and given an extension of three months to crack down on stone-pelters.
Finally the state Cabinet which met in Jammu evening has approved the appointment.
Government invites comments for creating new - Financial Redressal Agency
Among Important National Current Affairs, The Union Government has invited public comments on a report for the creation of a Financial Redressal Agency (FRA).
However, the report also calls for a new financial consumer protection and redressal legislation and also recommends an initial budget of Rs. 100 crore for the setting up of the FRA.
