India’s first integrated web portal has been launched to promote - Net Zero Energy Buildings
Among Important National Current Affairs, The Union Ministry of Power and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has launched India’s first integrated web portal designed to promote and mainstream Net Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB) in India.

By Secretary of Union Ministry of Power Pradeep Kumar Pujari and Ambassador Mr Jonathan portal the portal (www.nzeb.in) was launched and provides complete information about NZEB that generate as much energy as they use.
They also helps to achieve near-zero energy status through the use of efficient lighting and equipment, best practice design strategies and integration of renewable energy technologies.
Land-attack version of which missile successfully test-fired by Indian Air Force – BrahMos
On 27 May 2016, The Indian Air Force (IAF) successfully test-fired the land-attack version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile.
This missile was test fired from a defence base in the western sector at the Pokaran in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
Know About BrahMos Missile –
• In February 1998, BrahMos missile was developed by an Indo-Russian joint venture (JV) after the two countries signed an agreement.
• BrahMos has derived its name from the names of two rivers Brahmaputra and Moskva Rivers of the two countries.
Who bagged India Biodiversity Award 2016 - Pakke Tiger Reserve
Among Important National Current Affairs, on 22 May 2016 Pakke Tiger Reserve received the 'India Biodiversity Award 2016' in one of its four categories in Mumbai. The reserve is in East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The Hornbill Nest Adoption Programme of the Pakke Tiger Reserve was awarded the prize under Conservation of threatened species category.
Under category IV Biodiversity Management Committee (BMC) award has been rewarded to Hong Niitii, Lower Subansiri.
