Sakharov Prize 2016 won by - Nadia Murad and Lamiya Aji
Nadia Murad Basee and Lamiya Aji Bashar won Sakharov prize. Sakharov prize is considered as top human rights award of Europe.
Nadia Murad Basee and Lamiya Aji Bashar were escaped from sexual enslavement by Islamic State as they were among thousands of girls who were abducted by ISIS militants and forced into sexual slavery.
They both campign for Yazidi community.

Sakharov Prize is an annual award which is being awarded by European Parliament and was established in 1988 to honour groups or individuals who dedicated their lives for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
