Who won Khushwant Singh Memorial Prize for Poetry - Arundhathi Subramaniam
On 24th January 2015, Poetess Arundhathi Subramaniam was honoured with inaugural Khushwant Singh Memorial Prize for Poetry at Jaipur Literature Festival. She was awarded with the this for her work "When God is a Traveller".
Who sworned in as PM of Greece - Alexis Tsipras
On 26th January 2015, Alexis Tsipras sworned in as Prime Minister of Greece. He is the head of far-left Syriza part of Greece.
His party won 149 out of 300 seats in parliament and he became youngest Prime Minister of Greece since 1865.

RBI signed MoU on Supervisory Cooperation with - Banco Central do Brasil
Among the Important Banking Current Affairs, RBI through its notification released on 27th January 2015 announced about its MoU on Supervisory Cooperation and Exchange of Supervisory Information with Brazil's Central Bank, Banco Central do Brasil (BCB) on 26th December 2014.
The MoU was signed by Anthero de Moraes Meirelles, Deputy Governor for Supervision, BCB and SS Mundra, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India.
Who became first lady officer to lead Inter-Service Guard of Honour - Wing Commander Puja Thakur
Wing Commander Pooja Thakur was in news as on 25th January 2015 she became first lady officer to lead the Inter-Service Guard of Honour for a major visiting dignitary at the Rashtrapati Bhavan as the Guard of Honour was inspected by the US President Barack Obama.
She also lead Inter-Service Guard of Honour was in line with the theme of Nari Shakti chosen for the 2015 Republic Day parade. Wing Commander Pooja Thakur belongs to administrative branch of Indain Air Force.

To won the title she defeated World Champion Carolina Marin of Spain by 19-21, 25-23, 21-16 at Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

In 1977, he had also served as Health Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
He is 20th Governor of Rajasthan and was appointed on 26 August 2014.
Which Malyalam actor has passed away - Mala Aravindan
On 28th January 2015, Malayalam actor Mala Aravindan has passed away in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. he was known for his work as a comedian, character artist in Malayalam films. He has also served as president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists.

Which day has been declared as Industries Day by Maharashtra government - 17th September
Maharashtra government has declared that 17th September will be celebrated as the Industries Day from now onwards. On this day industries will be awarded at the district level for their flawless performance. Every district of state will set up a commitee under district collectors for holding the Industries Day celebrations.
It will deliver state government a single platform to ensure that the policies offered by the state government proved beneficial to the people at the grass-root level.
