    Dilma Rousseff re-elected as Brazil President for second term

    Among the International Current Affairs, On 26th October 2014, Incumbent President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff  was re-elected for second term. Dilma Rousseff belongs to Worker's Party. She bagged 51.45 percent of votes to get this top post again. Her rival Aecio Neves, who belongs to conservative Brazilian Social Democracy Party bagged 48.55 percent of the votes.

    South African footballer Senzo Meyiwa shot dead

    On 26th October 2014, South Africa's football captain and goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa died after being shot. This shocking incident occured at Kelly Khumalo's house in Vosloorus, south of Johannesburg. Kelly Khumalo was girlfriend of Senzo Meyiwa.

    Two armed men broke into the house where he was staying and later 27 year old player was shot dead.

    Maharashtra newly elected BJP legislator Govind M Rathod passed away

    On 27th October 2014, Newly elected BJP legislator of Maharashtra Govind M Rathod passed away following a massive heart attack. He was elected as MLA from Mudkhed Assembly in Nanded district of Maharashtra in October 2014. He was travelling by Devgiri Express when he passed away. 

    Sundar Pichai appointed as new Product Chief of Google

    On 26th October 2014, Google CEO Larry Page appointed Sundar Pichai as new Product Chief of Google, who will oversight over products such as search, maps, Google+, commerce, advertising and infrastructure. India-born Sundar Pichai has been working with Google for more than 9 years. In addition of this new responsibility he will continue to work as Senior Vice President of Android, Chrome and Apps.

    Sundar Pichai was born in Chennai, Tamilnadu and had earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree from IIT- Kharagpur. He also holds an M.S. from Stanford University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. 

    Serena Williams clinched the Singles title of BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore 2014

    Among the major sports current affairs, On 26th October 2014 Serena Williams of the US won the Singles title of BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore 2014.

    She defeated Simona Halep of Romania by 6-3, 6-0, in the final match held at Singapore Indoor Stadium to bag this title.

    Serena Williams won WTA finals for the fifth time as earlier she had already won the WTA finals in 2001, 2009, 2012 and 2013.
