India and the United States released a Joint Statement (JS) titled - United States and India:
Prosperity through Partnership on 26th June 2017. Prime Minister was in the United States on 25th and 26th June 2017.
During this visit, President Donald J. Trump hosted Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House on June 26th for an official visit to Washington, D.C. It was Modi’s first US visit after Donald became the President of the nation. The visit that marks 70 years of diplomatic relations between the United States and India was planned to expand and deepen the strategic partnership between both the nations aiming to advance common objectives.
Common objectives are promoting stability, combating terrorist threats, across the Indo-Pacific region, boosting free and fair trade, and strengthening energy linkages.Kidambi Srikanth beats Chen Long to win 2017 Australian Open on - 25th June 2017
Kidambi Srikanth won the 2017 Australian Open Men’s Singles title on 25th June 2017. He defeated Olympic champion Chen Long 22-20, 21-16 to clinch the Sydney crown. Also, Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara won the Women’s Singles title.

China's fastest bullet train makes its debut run on - 26th June 2017
China launched its first self-developed 'next-generation' bullet train 'Fuxing' with a maximum speed of 400 kmh on 26th June 2017. The train was launched on one of the country’s busiest lines -Beijing-Shanghai line. Beijing is aiming to capture global high-speed rail market after this launch.
Key Highlights
- The first run of the bullet train happened simultaneously from two stations-Beijing and Shanghai.
- CR400BF model left Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station for Beijing and CR400AF model train was flagged off from Beijing South Railway Station towards Shanghai.
- The model train while reaching to Shanghai took about five hours and 45 minutes to reach its destination.
- It has 10 stop stations on the way, including Shandong province, Jinan and Tianjin.
- The Beijing-Shanghai line sees a footfall of around 50 5000 passengers daily.
- China is expecting to have world's longest railway network with 22,000 kilometers by the end of last year which is about 60 percent of the world's total railway network.
- China only self designed and manufactured the train.
- It includes a hi-tech monitoring system that constantly checks its performance and automatically slows the train in case of of any emergency if occurs.
Desh Bandhu Gupta, founder of pharma giant-Lupin passed away on - 26th June 2017
Desh Bandhu Gupta, founder and Chairman of Lupin, India’s second-largest pharmaceutical company passed away on 26th June 2017 in Mumbai. Vinita Gupta and Nilesh Gupta, CEO and MD of Lupin spoke on their father’s demise said in a joint statement they were deeply saddened with the demise of their father.

Pakistan-based Hizbul chief Syed Salahuddin as global terrorist declared by - US
The United States (US) Department of State declared Syed Salahuddin, Chief of the terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen, as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist on 26th June 2017.
The declaration came just a couple of hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with President Donald Trump. The outfits that Syed Salahuddin leads have sustained cross border terrorism against India including in Kashmir from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and the territory of Pakistan for a number of years. Salahuddin is operating from out of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This declaration will ban US nationals from engaging in transactions with Salahuddin and all of Salahuddin's property and interests in property subject to United States jurisdiction are also blocked.11 agreements signed during PM Modi’s visit between - India-Portugal
India-Portugal signed 11 MoUs ranging from science and technology,anti-terrorism, education, climate, among others. The signed MoUs will help in increasing the bilateral relationship between both the two nations.
In addition to that both the nations also announced joint funding of a four million euros to bolster research in science and technology. The fund was announced after in-depth talkings between Portuguese António Costa and PM Modi on cooperation in areas like space, climate studies,counter-terrorism and start-ups.
The MoUs were signed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Portugal on 24th June 2017.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the first Indian prime minister in Portugal on a bilateral visit. PM Modi was on a three-nation tour, namely Portugal, the US and the Netherlands at the time
of signing of these 11 MoUs.Modi and the Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa informed that both the countries have
made substantial progress since Costa visited India in January 2017 later in a joint address.
The economic ties between Portugal and India continue to follow an upward trajectory. Bilateral trade has grown to 17% in 2016. The foreign direct investment from Portugal to India have doubled during 2016-17.Femina Miss India World 2017 won by - Manushi Chhillar
Haryana’s Manushi Chhillar was crowned the 54th Femina Miss India World 2017 on 25th June 2017. This event held at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Sana Dua from Jammu and Kashmir is the first runner -up and the second runner-up is Priyanka Kumari from Bihar. Chhillar was crowned by the outgoing Miss India Priyadarshini Chatterjee.

Who appointed Mihai Tudose as Prime Minister ? - Romanian President
Social Democrat Mihai Tudose has been appointed by Romanian President Klaus Iohannis as the Prime Minister and mandated him to form a new government on 26th June 2017.
Tudose was officially validated as proposal for the Prime Minister office by the National Executive Committee convention of the main ruling Social Democratic Party (PSD).
Tudose has 10 days now to win over Romania's parliament with a vote of confidence in his policy program and proposed cabinet.
For prime Minister, Tudose was one of the potential candidates brought forward by the majority coalition led by the Social Democratic Party to succeed Sorin Grindeanu after the latter was dismissed by a motion of zero confidence adopted in Parliament by his own party.More about Mihai Tudose
