Expanded Panama Canal reopens after how many years of work – 9 Years
Among Important International Current Affairs, on 26 June 2016 newly renovated and expanded Panama Canal reopened for bigger business.

As he missed the penalty in the Copa America final, he made the announcement of his retirement.
However, Argentina faced a defeat from Chile in Copa America final at New Jersey in the US.

Which country became 35th full member of Missile Technology Control Regime – India
Among Important National Current Affairs, on 27 June 2016 India became the 35th full member of the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR).
However, this entry would be mutually favourable to enhance global non-proliferation norms.
For India, the instrument of accession to MTCR was signed in New Delhi by Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar. The entry also marks India's first entry into any multilateral export control regime.
Also the MTCR Point of Contact in Paris conveyed the decision regarding India's accession to the regime through the French Embassy in New Delhi as well as the Embassies of The Netherlands and Luxembourg.
First loans for projects in four countries was approved by - AIIB
Among Important International Current Affairs, The China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has approved its first set of loans totalling US 509 million dollars to finance projects in four countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia and Tajikistan.
These loans for the all four projects were approved in Board of Directors meeting of AIIB held at its headquarters only in Beijing, China.
Which state zoo gets a male snow leopard for breeding conservation programme – Darjeeling
Among Important National Current Affairs, PNHZP which is also known as the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (PNHZP) in Darjeeling, West Bengal has been gifted a male snow leopard named Makalu from London’s Dudley Zoological Gardens.
At PNHZP, the male snow leopard will be used for en-situ breeding conservation programme. This leopard will also help to balance the poor sex ratio of the Darjeeling zoo (8 female and 1 male) which is hampering the breeding programme.
Please Note: The snow leopard got transferred after there were genetic matches of its samples with the resident population of the zoo. It has been named after world’s fifth highest peak Makalu (8,485 metres) located on the south-east side of the Everest.
Jitu Rai wins silver in - ISSF World Cup
Among Important Sports Current Affairs, on 25 June 2016 at the ISSF World Cup held in Baku, Azerbaijan, Shooter Jitu Rai won silver in the 10 m Air Pistol event.
For Rai, this season it is the second medal in a World Cup, which she won in the free pistol gold in the first World Cup in Bangkok.
Whereas, Brazilian shooter Felipe Almeida Wu won the gold medal, while Korea’s Jin Jongoh bagged the bronze medal.
