8 satellites into two different orbits successfully launched by – ISRO
Among Important National Current Affairs, The Indian Space Research Organisation which is also known as ISRO, for first time has successfully launched eight satellites into two different orbits in a single mission.
However, it was ISRO’s longest and most complex mission.
Also, these satellites were launched onboard of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle C35 (PSLV C35) from the first launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikotta.
Which Tamil Film is India’s official entry for 2017 Oscar – Visaranai
Among Important Entertainment Current Affairs, Visaranai, which is a Tamil film directed by Vetrimaran and produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films, has been selected as India's entry in the Foreign Language Film category for the 89th Academy Awards (Oscars), which is to be held in 2017.
However, the national award-winning film documents four migrant workers who suffer police brutuality and corruption after being jailed on false charges.
This film is based on true events recorded in novel Lock Up written by M Chandrakumar, an auto rickshaw driver from Coimbatore.
PM approves constitution of two committees for birth centenary of - Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay
Among Important National Current Affairs, on 23rd September 2016 Prime Minister Narendra Modi finally approved the constitution of two committees for the commemoration of the birth centenary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.
However, PM Narendra Modi will head about 149 member National Committee while Home Minister Rajnath Singh will chair the 23 member Executive Committee.
Please Note: Former Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and H.D. Deve Gowda, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and Manohar Parrikar, former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani and BJP President Amit Shah are the members of National Committee.
World’s largest radio telescope built in – China
Among Important International Current Affairs, China has built world’s largest radio telescope nicknamed Tianyan (Heavenly Eye” or “The Eye of Heaven) or the five-hundred-metre aperture spherical radio telescope (FAST).
However, it has started its operation and is part of China’s drive to become a science powerhouse.
It is also located in the Dawodang depression (vast natural crater), a natural basin in Pingtang County in the Guizhou Province, Southwest China.
CSIR celebrated it’s which jubilee – Platinum
Among Important National Current Affairs, India’s largest civilian research and development agency Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) celebrated its platinum jubilee.
However, the platinum jubilee celebrations were inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is also the President of CSIR.
Here, PM Modi also released seven new plant varieties developed at CSIR laboratories and witnessed exclusive CSIR Showcase on major technological contributions of CSIR. Besides, prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prizes was presented to eminent scientists on the occasion along with other CSIR awards.
