How many Golds were won by Indian boxers at World Junior Women's boxing Championship - Three Gold
Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 23rd May 2015, at World Junior Women's boxing Championship, Indian boxers won three Gold medals and two silver medals.
Sakshi, Mandeep Sandhu and Savita won gold for the country, while Soniya and Niharika Gonella grabbed for silver medals.

Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 23rd May 2015, at Doha International Boxing Tournament 2015, Indian boxer won four Gold Medals, One Silver and two bronze medals. Commonwealth Games silver medallist Manish Kaushik (60kg), Manoj Kumar (64kg), Shiva Thapa (56kg) and L Devendro Singh (49kg) won the gold medals.
The silver medal went to Gaurav Bidhuri (52kg), while Mandeep Jangra (69kg) and Vikas Krishan (75kg) bagged bronze medals.
Who is elected as Head of Bureau of International Recycling - Ranjit Singh Baxi
On 19th May 2015, Indian-origin entrepreneur Ranjit Singh Baxi was elected as the Head of the Bureau of International Recycling, a global organisation that facilitates free and fair trade of recyclables in a sustainable and competitive world economy.
Initially he was President of the organisation’s Paper Division. Baxi was appointed as the Treasurer of BIR in 2011. A book titled Recycling our Future- A Global Strategy was also published by him.
He was also a Member of British Prime Ministers Trade Delegation to India and Governor at the University of East London.
Voice Recognition Service for Biometric Authentication has been launched by - ICICI Bank
Among the important National Current Affairs, On 25th May 2015, ICICI Bank launched Voice Recognition Service (VRS), which authenticates customers based on their speech composition. With the help of this service customers will be able to execute banking transactions through Bank’s call center in a convenient, secure and quick manner.
The service will be made available to over 33 million customers of its savings account and credit card and with this service, ICICI became the first bank in India to offer this service.
Features of the service
- Now the customer's voice will act as the password for banking transactions through the call centre i.e customers will no longer have to enter their card numbers, PIN and answer security questions to validate themselves.
- The voice recognition technology works on voice prints, which are distinctive to an individual. It encompasses more than 100 features including speed, accent, voice modulation, pronunciation, thereby strengthens security.
- The Bank stores the customer's unique voice print against his account and matches it whenever he calls from his registered mobile number.
Who is appointed as MD of Whirlpool India - Sunil D’Souza
Among the important appointments, On 25th May 2015, Sunil D’Souza was determined as the Managing Director (MD) of Indian home appliances maker Whirlpool of India.
Formerly he was the Head of PepsiCo’s VIMAPS Business Unit. For about 15 years, he has been with PepsiCo, holding various senior management positions in India, the Philippines, Vietnam and Malaysia.
He has rich and diverse experience across various fields including sales, general management, strategy, innovation and marketing in consumer-driven industries.
Which part of Mexico has been struck by Tornado - northern city of Ciudad Acuna
On 25th May 2015, Ciudad Acuna in Mexico was hit by a tornado killing at least 13 people and injuring several.
Since the city's understructure, more than 100 years ago, it was the first tornado to hit Acuna which lies on US-Mexico border.
Hundreds of homes of the city were damaged or destroyed by the tornado after it attained the speed of 270-300 kilometer per hour at one point.

On 25th May 2015, E-commerce major Snapdeal acquired Hyderabad-based mobile technology startup MartMobi to strengthen its mobility platform for merchant partners.

CEAT International Cricketer of the Year 2015 - Kumar Sangakkara
Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 25th May 2015, Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara was named as the International Cricketer of the Year 2015 while the middle order batsman Ajinkya Rahane was named as the CEAT Indian Cricketer of the Year 2015.
International Lifetime Achievement Award at the 19th edition of the awards was awarded to Former Indian captain Kapil Dev.
For a record-breaking score of 264 made against Sri Lanka in an ODI at Kolkata, Rohit Sharma was conferred with a special award.
