India, Vietnam signed MoU for cooperation in I&B sector and space on - 24th January 2018
India and Vietnam on January 24th, 2018 interchanged MoUs for coordination in the field of Information and Broadcasting and space. The accordance was interchanged in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Vietnam counterpart, Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
MoU for cooperation in Information and Broadcasting Sector- The both countries agreed to enhance coordination in the field of Information and Broadcasting related to the principles of equality and reciprocity according to their national laws and regulations.
- The nations even agreed on the execution of the arrangement between the ISRO and Vietnam's National Remote Sensing.
- Department for the initiation of tracking and data reception station and data processing solutions in Vietnam under the ASEAN-India Space Cooperation.
MoU on Space Cooperation - The accordance interchanged between the both countries for space cooperation would define the structure and conditions of coordination for the establishment of a provision to provide Indian remote sensing satellite data over ASEAN area.
- This would facilitate remote sensing apps, which consists natural resources management, ocean development and disaster management by the ASEAN subscriber states.
- Apart from this, both the leaders also talked about coordination in trade and investment, defence, maritime and other sectors.
National Voters Day 2018 observed in India on - 25th January 2018
The Eighth National Voters’ day was celebrated across India on January 25th, 2018 with a focus to increase enrolment of voters, especially of the new eligible citizens. This was the 8th edition of the Day.
The day also focuses to increase awareness among voters related to effective participation in the electoral process.
Take the Pledge-
To mark the day present year, Election Commission and Facebook declared rolling out a new feature “Take the Pledge” on the Facebook that will give a reminder to subscribers aged eighteen years and more to take the pledge to vote.
By pushing “Take the Pledge” button, subscribers will be moved to the EC’s Facebook post which will have the National Voters’ Day pledge.
More about National Voters’ Day- The National Voters’ Day is celebrated annually on 25th January.
- It is celebrated yearly to mark the anniversary of Election Commission of India, which came into being on January 25th, 1950.
