    On 26th January 2015, 66th Republic Day was celebrated across India. United States President Barack Obama was the chief guest at celebrations in New Delhi.

    Who has been crowned as Miss Universe 2015 - Paulina Vega

    On 26th January 2015, Paulina Vega of Colombia was crowned as 63rd Miss Universe. Miss USA Nia Sanchez from Las Vegas was runner-up while Miss Ukraine Diana Harkusha was second runner up.Miss Universe is one of the three largest beauty pageants in the world and one of the most anticipated beauty pageants worldwide.

    Who has been awarded Ashok Chakra - Major Mukund Varadarajan and Naik Neeraj Kumar Singh

    On 26th January 2015, Major Mukund Varadarajan and Naik Neeraj Kumar Singh were awarded with the Ashok Chakra posthumously by Indian President Pranab Mukherjee. 

    Prizes were received by their wives at the 66th Republic Day celebrations as both the army personnel have given their lives for nation while battling groups of militants in separate operations in Shopian and Kupwara districts of Kashmir.
