Brazilian scientists identify another type of - Zika-Transmitting Mosquito
Among Important International Current Affairs, Brazilian scientists got the success and have identified Culex quinquefasciatus mosquito, which is infected by the Zika virus as another type of Zika-transmitting mosquito.
Zika-Transmitting Mosquito was identified by researchers from the public Brazilian laboratory Fundacion Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz) in three out of 80 groups of mosquitoes analysed up until now.
However, the transmission of the Zika virus was only known through the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the same vector that spreads Dengue and Chikungunya both.
The Culex quinquefasciatus mosquito is also known as the domestic mosquito in Brazil. According to the report in Recife, where the majority of Zika cases of Brazil were registered, the population of this mosquito is estimated to be 20 times larger than that of the Aedes aegypti.
Solar Power Tree for generation of electricity developed by - CSIR-CMERI
Among Important National Current Affairs, on 22nd July 2016 Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences have launched the Solar Power Tree in New Delhi.
The Solar Power Tree has been developed by the CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CMERI), a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
Here, the product harnesses solar energy for producing electricity with an innovative vertical arrangement of solar cells. It also reduces the requirement of land as compared to conventional Solar Photovoltaic layout.
As a future prospect, the Solar Power Tree will also be developed in a rotatable module, which will have a motorized mechanism to align itself with the movement of the Sun during the day.
Which wrestler fails Dope Test - Narsingh Yadav
Among Important Sports Current Affairs, in July 2016 Narsingh Yadav, an Indian wrestler qualifier for Rio Olympics, failed a dope test.
Narsingh Yadav was tested positive for a banned substance steroid in an out-of-competition test which was conducted by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA).
In the samples collected at the National camp in Sonepat, Narsingh Yadav was tested positive for the methandienone — a banned anabolic steroid.
India’s first Green Rail Corridor launched in - Tamil Nadu
Among Important National Current Affairs, The India’s first Green Rail Corridor was launched on the 114-km long Rameswaram-Manamadurai stretch in Tamil Nadu.
Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu launched the India’s first Green Rail Corridor through video-conferencing from Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Among Important International Current Affairs, on 24th July 2016 Nepal's Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli, resigned from his office. He resigned ahead of a no-confidence vote.
Khadga Prasad Oli, who was heading Nepal’s eighth government in past 10 years, threw the nation into a fresh political turmoil.
Oli at the age of 64, who became Prime Minister of Nepal in October 2015, has been facing a no-trust motion after the Maoists withdrew support from the coalition government.
Who becomes first woman violinist to receive Sangita Kalanidhi Award - A Kanyakumari
Among Important National Current Affairs, on 24th July 2016, The Madras Music Academy declared that for the year 2016, it has chosen versatile violinist A. Kanyakumari for its coveted Sangita Kalanidhi Award.
A Kanyakumari was consistently named for the award by the Executive Committee of the Academy.

• The violinist A Kanyakumari is the first woman violinist to get the award in the history of the Music Academy.
