Central Excise Day was celebrated on - 24 February 2017
On 24th February 2017, Central Excise Day was observed by The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC). On this day different seminars and events were hold by the department.

Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) is under Union Ministry of Finance and it deals with Customs, central excise, service tax and narcotics.
This board primarily deals with the Customs Act, 1962, Customs Tarriff Act, 1975, Central Excise Act, 1944 and Service Tax Act.
Seven Earth-like planets found orbiting - Same star
As per a journal published on 22nd February and conference held at NASA, Astronomers discovered seven Earth like planets. Their distance from earth is 40 light years.
These planets have been found rotating in a circle around a star. Star around which these are rotating has been named as TRAPPIST-1. Size of TRAPPIST-1 is one tenth of Sun and also its about a quarter as warm as Sun.
Nearest planet to TRAPPIST-1 takes around one and half days to orbit and the farthest one takes 20 days to orbit it. As per estimate these planets appear to be rocky planets. Out of seven three planets also have possibility of water on their surface.
This discovery was made by a team led by Michaël Gillon.
Under HRIDAY which Circuit will be developed - Bet Dwarka Darshan Circuit
On 23rd February 2017, Union Ministry of Urban Development approved 6 kilometer long Bet Dwarka Darshan Circuit in Gujarat. It will be devloped under HRIDAY Scheme.
Bet Dwarka Darshan Circuit connects famous Dwarkadish Haveli and Hanuman Dandi.

Hanuman Dandi is only temple housing Hanumanji and his son Makardhwaj.
For development of Sylhet city, India will provide assistance to - Bangladesh
On 24th February 2017, India and Bangladesh inked an MoU, as per MoU India will provide financial assistance to Bangladesh for sustainable development of Sylhet. Sylhet is a north-eastern Bangladeshi city. There will be around expenses of Taka 240 million for development of three projects in the city.
