PM approves constitution of two committees for birth centenary of - Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay

Among Important National Current Affairs, on 23rd September 2016 Prime Minister Narendra Modi has finally approved the constitution of two committees for the commemoration of the birth centenary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.

However, PM Narendra Modi will head the 149 member National Committee while Home Minister Rajnath Singh will chair the 23 member Executive Committee.

Please Note: Former Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and H.D. Deve Gowda, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and Manohar Parrikar, former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani and BJP President Amit Shah are the members of National Committee.

India, France ink deal for - 36 Rafale Fighter Jets

Among Important International Current Affairs, India and France has finally signed together an Inter-Governmental Agreement for the purchase of 36 Rafale fighter jets at a cost of 7.87 billion Euros. 

However, this deal was signed by Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and his French counterpart Jean Yves Le Drian. Eric Trappier in New Delhi.

• 36 Rafale Fighter Jets is the first fighter aircraft deal signed by India with other country since the purchase of Sukhoi aircrafts from Russia in the late 1990’s.

Union Government to launch which mission for improved family planning services - Mission Parivar Vikas

Among Important National Current Affairs, The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is all set to launch Mission Parivar Vikas for improved family planning services in 145 High Focus districts in seven states. 

The main aim of this mission is to accelerate access to high quality family planning choices based on information, reliable services and supplies within a rights-based framework.

India-Russia Joint Military Exercise Indra-2016 begins in – Vladivostok

Among Important International Current Affairs, the eighth edition of India-Russia Joint Military Exercise ‘INDRA-2016’ has begun in the Ussiriysk District in Vladivostok, Russia. 

The main objective of this edition of the joint exercise is on Counter-Terrorism Operations in semi mountainous and jungle terrain under United Nations Mandate.

However, to achieve interoperability in joint operations, troops from both sides would acquaint themselves with the respective approach to such operations. 

Here, a comprehensive training programme spanning eleven days has been drawn up for the purpose.

Which Hindi and Urdu writer passes away recently - Reoti Saran Sharma

Among Important National Current Affairs, on 23rd September 2016 Reoti Saran Sharma, who is the renowned Hindi and Urdu writer, playwright and television personality, died in New Delhi.

However, Reoti Saran Sharma was a Pioneer in radio plays in All India Radio and was conferred with Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for 2007 for his contribution to theatre (dramatic literature and performance).
