Which Marathi actor has been selected for Dinanath Mangeshkar award - Prashant Damle
Among the important National Current Affairs, On 23rd November 2015, Noted Marathi actor Prashant Damle was selected for the Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Award. Lata Mangeshkar will present him the award on the occasion of the death anniversary of Master Dinanath in April 2016.
Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar made this announcement at the 100th show of Damle's Marathi play Karti Kaljat Ghusli.
About Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar Award
In 1999, Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar award was instituted in the memory of Dinanath Mangeshkar. The award is presented to individuals from Marathi and Hindi theatre, music and films annually.
The award carries a citation, a memento and monetary award of one lakh rupees.
Who has been appointed as strategic coach of Indian Men’s Hockey Team - Roger Van Gent
Among the important appointments, On 7th November 2015, Dutchman Roger Van Gent was appointed as the strategic coach for the Indian men’s Hockey till the 2016 Rio Olympics.
He will assist chief coach Roelant Oltmans and High Performance director.
About Roger van Gent
- In 2000, he commenced his coaching career after securing the International Hockey Federation (FIH) high performance coaching qualification.
- In 2007, he added to the staff of the Kenyan men’s team.
- He has worked with various domestic teams in the Netherlands since 2000.
Who has inked MoU with Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission on bilateral cooperation - SEBI
On 22nd November 2015, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) signed MoU on bilateral cooperation and technical assistance with the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC).
Characterstics of the MoU
- Dr M Khairul Hossain, Chairman, BSEC at Dhaka, Bangladesh and UK Sinha, Chairman, SEBI signed the MoU.
- The motive of the MoU is to promote further development of economic links.
- Its main aim is to enhance investor protection and create conditions for an effective development of securities markets.
Who has been appointed as Special Representative for Somalia and Head of UNSOM - Michael Keating
Among the important appointments, On 23rd November 2015, Michael Keating of United Kingdom was appointed as Special Representative for Somalia and Head of the UN Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) by the Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
He will replace Nicholas Kay as he will complete his assignment in December 2015.

Who has been honoured with Ramnath Goenka Lifetime Achievement Award - Kuldip Nayar
Among the important National Current Affairs, On 23rd November 2015, Kuldip Nayar was honoured with Ramnath Goenka Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to journalism.
In July 2012, his autobiography entitled, Beyond the Lines was released. He is the author of followings writings : India after Nehru (1975), Wall at Wagah – India Pakistan Relationship (2003), Distant Neighbours: A Tale of the Subcontinent (1972), India House (1992), Scoop!: Inside Stories from Partition to the Present (2006 ) etc..

20th Anniversary of Dayton Peace Accord observed on - 21st November 2015
Among the important International Current Affairs, On 21st November 2015, 20th Anniversary of the Signing of the Dayton Peace Accords was observed.
About Dayton Peace Accord
- On 21st November 1995, to end the Bosnian war and laid the foundations for a sovereign Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Dayton Peace Accords were signed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.
- Richard Holbrooke, the then chief US peace negotiator and Secretary of State Warren Christopher led the signing process.
- Bosnia was divided into two autonomous entities after the accord- the Serb Republic and the mainly Bosniak-Croat Federation and created a highly decentralised and unwieldy system of ethnic quotas.
