By which year Union Government constituted panel to double farmers’ income – 2022

On 22 April 2016, Union government constituted the inter-ministerial panel to prepare a blueprint for doubling farmers' income by 2022. 

By 2022 the government has decided to set up the panel which follows the budget announcement that set a target of doubling farm incomes by 2022.

This panel will be headed by Ashok Dalwai, who is an Additional Secretary at the Union Agriculture Ministry. Whereas, the other members will be officials from Agriculture and Food Ministries as well as experts from the Delhi-based National Council of Applied Economic Research and National Institute of Agricultural Economics and Policy Research.

Which country successfully tested its first stealth fighter X-2 jet – Japan

On 22 April 2016, Japan successfully tested the first stealth fighter X-2 jet. Along with this, the country has also joins a select group of world military powers wielding the radar-dodging technology.

The X-2 jet took off from Nagoya airport in central Japan on its maiden test flight, where it safely landed at Gifu air base, north of Nagoya airport, after a 25-minute flight with no particular problems.

After World War II, even though the use of military force have strict constitutional constraints. Japan still has one of the world's most advanced defense forces and the development of the stealth fighter comes as it faces new security challenges in the form of China's expanding force posture.

Know About X-2 Jet – 

• A Japanese experimental aircraft The Mitsubishi X-2 Shinshin is for testing advanced stealth fighter aircraft technologies. 

• X-2 Jet is being developed by the Japanese Ministry of Defense Technical Research and Development Institute (TRDI) for research purposes. 

Which bollywood actress won best actress award for 'Madly' at Tribeca Film Fest 2016 - Radhika Apte

On 22 April 2016, Bollywood actress Radhika Apte bagged the best actress award in an international narrative feature honour at Tribeca Film Festival 2016. She won this award for her performance in anthology film Madly.

Radhika was starred in Clean Shaven, which is a segment of Madly.

• Radhika Apte is an Indian film and stage actress. She began her acting career in theatre, working with the theatre troupe Aasakta. 

• Radhika Apte made her film debut in the year 2005, bollywood film Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi! and had her first starring role in the 2009 Bengali film Antaheen. 

• She also made her Marathi film debut in 2009 with Amol Palekar's Samaantar.

• Radhika’s bollywood breakthrough occurred in 2015, following acclaimed performances in Badlapur and Hunterrr.

Which two countries launch $1 Trillion Potential Solar Programme under ISA - India, France

A programme with $1 trillion Potential Solar Programme under the International Solar Alliance (ISA) has been launched by India and France. 

This solar finance programme, aims at helping developing countries to fully harness their solar resources for a clean energy future. It also aims at lowering the cost of finance and facilitates the flow of more than 1 trillion dollars investment to members of the ISA.

Know About International Solar Alliance – 

•At the 2015 Paris Climate Change Summit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Francois Hollandev The ISA was launched.

•The ISA seeks to empower solar-rich countries, which is located between the tropic of Cancer and the tropic of Capricorn to make collaborative efforts to harness solar energy to generate the electricity.

•About 121 countries that fall within the tropics under this alliance, and they all have been invited. Most of these countries fall within Asia, Africa and South America.

India’s which first online interactive heritage portal has been launched – Sahapedia

Sahapedia, which is India’s first online interactive heritage portal has been launched by The Union Government, in New Delhi. 

This web portal is a collaborative knowledge resource on the arts, culture and heritage of India. 

Know About Sahapedia – 

Sahapedia is a not-for-profit society headed by former TCS chairman S. Ramadorai, who currently helms the National Skill Development Agency.

The aim of this portal is to inform, educate and act on subjects such as knowledge traditions, visual and material arts, performing arts, literature and languages.

Union Government notifies new rules to revamp which act - SC/ST Act

The Union Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry has apprised new rules to give effect amended Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. 

The new rule is all set to tighten provisions to ensure speedy justice to members of the SC/ST community. 

Few Key Facts - 

•This new rule aims at speeding up the process of dispensation of justice, liberalise and expedite access to relief for victims of atrocities, ensuring special sensitivity in cases of offences against women.

•It has been made mandatory for cops to file chargesheet within 60 days after a complaint is lodged.
