Corporate Social Responsibility award in aviation sector won by – Delhi Airport
Among Important National Current Affairs, on 22nd January 2017 the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) declared that it won the prestigious Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Social Responsibility in the aviation transport sector for the year 2016.
However, on 20th Jnauary 2017 this award was presented at a ceremony during the 11th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility.
Here, more than 325 responses were received for the annual awards in the year 2017. Out of them, 191 applications were shortlisted. Also they were then subjected to a three-tier assessment process for final selection.
Which actor will judge the 65th Miss Universe Pageant – Sushmita Sen
Among Important Entertainment Current Affairs, bollywood actress and the former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen will be on the judges panel of the upcoming 65th edition of Miss Universe Pageant.
However, this contest will take place on 30th Jnauary 2017 in Philippines.
From India Roshmitha Harimurthy is going to represent at the 65th Miss Universe Pageant.
Jagdalpur-Bhubaneshwar Hirakhand Express derails near Rayagada in – Andhra Pradesh
Among Important National Current Affairs, on 21st January 2017 Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express derailed at Kuneru Railway Station in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh at Rayagada-Vizianagaram section.
However, the accident site falls under Waltair Division of East Coast Railways at the border of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh near Rayagada town in Odisha.
Well, the derailed part of this train no. 18448 included the engine and 9 coaches.
In this accident, at least 36 people died and over 60 were injured. Injured people were admitted to hospitals and ambulances were also arranged for them.
Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu has announced an enhanced ex-gratia payment of Rs. 2 lakhs for the relative of dead persons, Rs. 50000 for grievous injuries and Rs. 25000 for simple injuries.
Record 103 satellites on a single rocket will be launched by - ISRO
Among Important National Current Affairs, ISRO i.e. The Indian Space Research Organisation is planning to set a new world record in space history by launching about 103 satellites in one go on a single rocket in the first week of February, 2017.
However, these satellites will be launched on board of ISRO’s workhorse PSLV (C37) from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
Here, the mission will carry three satellites from India and rest from other countries.
