Which country has lifted nuclear sanctions on Iran - Japan
Among the important International Current Affairs, On 22nd January 2016, Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga announced that Japan has lifted sanctions on Iran, falling in line with major world powers.
On 16th January 2016, after the United Nations atomic energy agency confirmed that Tehran has fully taken steps to curb its disputed nuclear programme the sanctions were lifted.
This will enable Japanese companies to continue investment in Iran's oil and gas industry.
Before introducing sanctions against Tehran, Tokyo imported around 10 % of Iran’s oil.
Who has signed MoU to develop National Action Plan for Skill Development in Telecom Sector - MSDE & DoT
Among the important National Current Affairs, On 22nd January 2016, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop and implement National Action Plan for Skill Development in Telecom Sector was signed by the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and Department of Telecommunication (DoT).
Secretaries of Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and the Union Ministry of Communications and Information signed the MoU.
Highlights of the MoU
- Both MSDE and DoT have agreed to make collective efforts towards skill development by making the way for mobilization of financial support under the National Ecosystem for Development of Telecom Skills.
- Utilization of at least 20 % of CSR funds for skilling purposes was suggested to PSUs under DOT by them.
- National Institute for Policy Research Innovation and Training (NTIPRT) will be developed for training and skill up gradation in Telecom Sector.
Name the Former Deputy Speaker of Gujarat Assembly who passed away - Nirmala Gajwani
On 21st January 2016, Former Deputy Speaker of Gujarat Assembly and Social Activist Nirmala Gajwani passed away at the age of 87.
About Nirmala Gajwani
- She was the first woman MLA from Kutch district in Gujarat Assembly, first lady Deputy Speaker of Gujarat legislative Assembly and also served as deputy speaker of the house.
- She served as the Chairperson of Sindhu Resettlement Corporation (SRC).
