Gujarat government launched Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Policy-2018 on - 21st June 2018
The state government of Gujarat declared its Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Policy for 2018 on June 21 st , 2018, to encourage formation of wind and solar energy projects at single location.
Key Highlights- The Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Policy 2018 will be effective for 5 years and it will issue inspiration to renewable power fabricators supplying to the grid and to those having confined use.
- The policy would permit the designer of a present solar project to utilise the similar land for forming wind and solar power plants and at the same time it would also permit them to utilise the communal transmission line to abandon the energy.
- A power project could also be formed on a terrestrial being utilised for wind farms.
- The welfares of the new policy will be appropriate for a time period of 25 years. The power produced from wind-solar hybrid projects will be excused from energy charges.
- The policy would also deliver 50% discount for cross-subsidy surcharge and extra surcharge when the produced energy is traded to a 3rd party.
- For the captive subscriber, the hybrid projects will have wide-ranging waiver on cross-subsidy extra-charge and added surcharge. The projects will also succeed for 50% reduction in wheeling charges and distribution loss.
United States quits United Nations Human Rights Council under - President Donald Trump government
The US under President Donald Trump government has declared its removal from United Nations Human Rights Council labelling it duplicitous and self-serving. It has held responsible United Nations Human Rights Council for bias against Israel and declining to expel members who are human rights violators.
United States had elected to stay out of United Nations Human Rights Council before also. The George W. Bush government had elected against looking for membership when the council was formed in 2006.

The 4 th International Yoga Day was observed worldwide on June 21 st , 2018. The observance of the day in India were headed by PM Narendra Modi in Dehradun.
The PM united thousands of volunteers, executing Yoga in the lawns of Forest Research Institute in Dehradun.
Same Yoga related programmes were organised worldwide to celebrate the occasion.
Previously, the PM took part in the opening Yoga revelries at Rajpath, New Delhi in 2015, the Capitol Complex, Chandigarh in 2016 and the Ramabai Ambedkar Sabha Sthal, Lucknow in 2017.
Talking on the importance of Yoga, PM Modi said that Yoga is not just a set of few workouts that maintains the body fit, however, Yoga promises check and balance, it promises calmness, focus and even promises hope, strength and courage.
More about the day’s celebration- 8 events were held in New Delhi along with the main event at Rajpath. The New Delhi Municipal Council held events at Lodhi Garden, Nehru Park, Talkatora Garden and Rajpath.
- Approximately, 50000 yoga enthusiasts from various Central Armed Police Forces including Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, CISF took part in yoga programme at Red Fort held by Brahma Kumaris.
- Yoga guru Ramdev organised a yoga session in Kota, Rajasthan at RC Ground.
- ITBP force completed yoga in cold desert of Ladakh at a height of 18000 feet.
- Eastern naval command staff also did yoga on board INS Jyothi in Bay of Bengal off Visakhapatnam. Eastern Naval Command's submarine staff also took part during the celebrations of the day.

World Music Day 2018 celebrated on - 21st June 2018
