How many satellites ISRO launched in one go - 20 satellites

Among Important Current Affairs, On 22nd June 2016, Indian Space Research Organisation launched 20 satellites in one go from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh thus beating its previous record of sending 10 satellites in 2008.

17 co-passenger satellites were international customer satellites from Canada (2), Germany (1), Indonesia (1) and the United States (13).
Among 20 satellites two satellites were of India which were built by Indian students, names of these two satellites are Sathyabamasat and Swayam.
Sathyabamasat was built by the students of Sathyabama University in Chennai while Swayam made by students from the College of Engineering, Pune.
Sathyabamasat will be used to collect data on green house gases while Sathyabama will be used to provide point to point messaging services to the HAM (amateur radio) community.

Most Important Satellite from Indian Prespective is Cartosat-2 as it will be useful for cartographic applications, urban and rural applications, coastal land use and regulation, utility management like road network monitoring, water distribution, creation of land use maps, precision study, change detection to bring out geographical and manmade features and various other Land Information System (LIS) and Geographical Information System (GIS) applications. Guda Anjaiah passed away, he was a noted - Telangana poet and lyricist

On 21st June 2016, Noted Telangana poet and lyricist Guda Anjaiah passed away at the age of 61. He has given many hit songs and also played a key role in Telangana movement.
He penned a novel named Polimera which was about 1975 emergency.

Book titled A Life in Diplomacy released, author of book is - MK Rasgotra

Among Important Book releases, Book titled "A Life in Diplomacy" was released which is authored by former Indian diplomat Maharajakrishna Rasgotra. Its about his views on personalities and policies that shaped Indian diplomacy.
Maharajakrishna Rasgotra joined IFS in 1949 and held the rank of Foreign Secretary also. He was having many high level posts in Ministry of External Affairs while his long career.
He was also chairman of National Security Advisory Board between 2005 and 2007.

Which community was given minority status by Maharashtra Cabinet - Jew

On 21st June 2016, Minority status to Jew community was approved by Maharashtra Cabinet as this will be helpful for students of this community to get scholarships from the state government and other state govt schemes.
Important to mention here that as per 2001 Census, Total number of Jews in India are 4650 and 2466 are living in Maharashtra.

India Development Update 2016 relased by - World Bank

Among Important Financial Current Affairs, On 20th June 2016, World Bank Group released the mid-year edition named as "India Development Update 2016: Financing Double-Digit Growth". As per this report Indian Economy has expanded with more speed in 2016 Financial Year.
Also it highlights that Agriculture, rural household consumption, private investments and exports has not performed by full potential and Oil benefits helped Government.
Also manufacturing sector increased 8.9 percent which created more jobs. This report forecasts Indian economic growth to be at 7.6 percent in 2016-2017.

Union Cabinet approved establishment of Fund of Funds for - Startups

On 22nd June 2016, Union Cabinet approved the establishment of Fund of Funds for Startups. This was done as in Jan 2016 plan for startups was already unveiled by Govt.
Govt is doing this with an aim to fund Startup enterprises with a stable and predictable manner so that more jobs can be created in the country.
This fund will be having corpus of 10000 crore rupees. This fund is expected to generate jobs for more than 18 lakh people once fully deployed.
DIPP will be having responsibilty to monitor and review performance of this fund and Start up India Action Plan.
